About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a visionary and execution-focused Product Executive to drive product strategy, innovation, and delivery for Merchant Services across multiple client segments-including Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking. This includes responsibility for card-present, card-not-present, integrated payments, partner solutions, small business, commercial and enterprise merchant solutions; as well as value-added services across the payments lifecycle.

The role carries accountability for the overall product experience and platform modernization of Merchant Services, including all internal and client facing solutions. The role will operate in close partnership with various solution providers, digital commerce platforms, and strategic processing and network partners.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Market Leadership

  • Define and lead the multi-year Merchant Services product strategy, spanning SMB, middle market, and large enterprise clients
  • Shape Wells Fargo's go-to-market position across core acquiring, integrated payments, and digital commerce ecosystems
  • Identify and scale opportunities in real-time payments, eCommerce, omnichannel acceptance, payments orchestration, and merchant data solutions
  • Champion innovation in areas such as digital onboarding, cash flow forecasting, and overall integration into firm wide digital assets.

Product Development & Delivery

  • Build and scale secure, client-centric solutions across payment acceptance and optimization, business management, digital onboarding and servicing, and internal servicing and operations.
  • Ensure consistency and scalability of product offerings across diverse client segments.
  • Effectively package, launch and commercialize solutions across all merchant segments

Client Experience & Product Innovation

  • Combine deep knowledge of the payments landscape with strong strategic thinking, market foresight, to champion new ideas that shape the future of our payment's products and platforms.
  • Deliver a seamless omni-channel merchant experience across in-store, online, mobile, and embedded environments
  • Lead innovation in merchant-facing capabilities, including:
    • Frictionless onboarding and underwriting
    • Real-time reporting and analytics
    • Fraud and chargeback management tools
    • API-first developer experiences
  • Ensure Wells Fargo products are competitive with leading acquirers, fintechs, and platform providers
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies, including stablecoin, digital assets, agentic payments, and next-gen payments.

Enterprise Execution & Platform Modernization

  • Partner with Technology to modernize merchant platforms, including cloud-based infrastructure and API-driven architecture.
  • Oversee large-scale product development and transformation initiatives, ensuring speed to market and execution discipline
  • Drive alignment across Sales, Relationship Management, Operations, Risk, and Marketing to ensure seamless product delivery
Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Leadership
  • Ensure end-to-end compliance with card network rules, regulatory standards, and third-party risk frameworks
  • Embed risk and controls into product design, balancing client experience with operational integrity
  • Partner with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to navigate evolving payment regulations and network mandates

Organizational Leadership & Talent Strategy

  • Navigate a complex matrix of internal stakeholders, including segment teams, risk, compliance, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Drive alignment and adoption across the enterprise, ensuring successful product launches and sustained performance.
  • Build and lead a high-performing product organization, including leaders across segment-based and platform-based teams
  • Drive a culture of innovation, speed, accountability, and client-centricity
  • Develop strong succession pipelines and next-generation product leaders

Leadership Profile

  • Enterprise leader with a deep understanding of merchant acquiring economics and competitive dynamics
  • Strategic visionary with the ability to anticipate disruption in payments and position the firm accordingly
  • Highly influential executive capable of aligning internal stakeholders and external partners at scale

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 6+ years of Management experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in merchant services, including acquiring, POS ecosystems (Clover), and enterprise payments
  • Strong understanding of payment gateways, APIs, digital commerce platforms, and embedded finance models
  • Proven success leading platform modernization and digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong familiarity with card network rules, interchange economics, and merchant pricing models
  • Exceptional ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and drive enterprise alignment
  • Proven experience owning product portfolio strategy at scale
  • Agile mindset with a bias for action and iterative execution.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Experience managing risk and regulatory engagement in a financial services context.


Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$250,000.00 - $420,000.00
