Position Summary

The Director of Marketing, Compliance Products is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition, retention, revenue growth, and market leadership for J. J. Keller's Compliance Products portfolio, including physical products, publications, labor law posters, PPE, signage, forms, subscription offerings, and membership programs. This role partners closely with Sales and Product Management leaders, as well as Marketing Operations, Digital Commerce, and Technology teams within the marketing organization, to align marketing investments, go-to-market strategies, and customer needs with business priorities.

Leading a multidisciplinary marketing organization, this position is accountable for delivering profitable growth and business results through customer-focused marketing, digital commerce, innovation, and data-driven decision making, while ensuring marketing initiatives support both near-term performance and long-term strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing organization by setting strategic priorities, allocating resources, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, and ensuring successful execution of business and marketing objectives.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies aligned with business objectives, growth priorities, customer needs, and revenue targets.
  • Partner with Sales leadership across a 600+ person inside and outside sales organization, Product Management, and other business leaders to review performance, align priorities, identify growth opportunities, and inform investment decisions through customer, market, and competitive insights.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy, positioning, messaging, and marketing plans for assigned products, channels, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, cross-sell opportunities, subscription and membership growth, and customer lifetime value through integrated marketing, digital commerce, and omnichannel engagement strategies.
  • Lead digital commerce and marketplace growth initiatives across company-owned websites and third-party marketplaces, optimizing customer acquisition, conversion, retention, merchandising effectiveness, and customer experience.
  • Oversee and optimize marketing channel strategy, spend allocation, testing, and performance across digital marketing, ecommerce, catalog marketing, direct marketing, events, print media, and sales-supported programs.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators and leverage customer insights, analytics, marketing automation, AI-enabled tools, and market intelligence to optimize marketing effectiveness and business outcomes.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets and marketing investments to maximize business performance, achieve financial objectives, and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Lead marketing's contribution to annual business planning, including growth strategies, investment priorities, performance risks, customer opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage agencies, vendors, marketplaces, strategic partnerships, and other external relationships that support business growth objectives.
  • Communicate business performance, marketing results, market insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership while championing innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations while promoting a safe, ethical, and productive work environment.
Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years of leadership experience building and developing high-performing teams, with a demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and achieving business objectives.
  • Experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition, retention, ecommerce growth, and business performance within B2B environments and in partnership with complex sales organizations.
  • Experience leveraging digital marketing, ecommerce, direct marketing, customer lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, analytics, AI-enabled tools, and other marketing technologies to optimize customer experience and business results.
  • Experience managing budgets, agencies, vendors, strategic partnerships, and cross-functional initiatives to maximize marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Preferred experience supporting transactional, subscription-based, membership, and ecommerce business models, including company-owned ecommerce platforms and third-party marketplaces.

  • Strategic leadership, business acumen, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to align marketing strategies, investments, and resources to organizational objectives and business outcomes.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern marketing disciplines, including digital marketing, ecommerce, customer acquisition and retention, customer lifecycle marketing, subscription marketing, marketplace strategies, and related marketing technologies.
