Director of Business Development
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – NORTH CAROLINA REGION
Iron Fish is seeking a Director to lead the North Carolina market in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to achieve corporate revenue targets. The Director will report to the Executive Vice President of Construction and serve as the regional leader accountable for all business development and strategic activities within the assigned territory. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership, estimating, sales, and business development experience.
Direct Responsibility for the following activities:
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain successful client relationships to support the company's growth and profitability with a targeted and measurable strategic sales plan.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and other industry professionals and repair tarnished relationships with past clients.
  • Lead regional updates on sales activities and have an understanding of the P&L.
  • Ability to estimate labor, materials and time requirements to compute the overall project cost.
  • Perform value engineering and construction detail review to help refine budget and manage profit.
  • Oversee and participate in the bidding process, bid comparisons, develop competitive proposals, negotiations of contracts and purchase orders to ensure they are timely, in-scope, and compliant as needed
  • Develop, manage or conduct outreach opportunities to include door to door, cold call and follow-up directives.
  • Work with marketing on the implementation of social media outreach and e-blasts to current and potential clients.
  • Identify and regularly attend industry association events, conferences, and trade shows in the North Carolina region.
  • Track notable project starts and completions to promote in marketing material to include capturing progress photos of various projects.
  • Remain knowledgeable on industry regulations, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President of Construction and Executive Vice President of Construction

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Sales or related field preferred
  • 7-10 years business development experience in the construction management field
  • Proven business development track record in the multifamily renovation/construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of the multifamily renovation and construction market, including industry trends and key players
  • Ability to estimate labor and material costs across multifamily projects
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and costing skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to confidently present to owners and clients
  • Work independently with limited direct supervision
  • Proficient in RedTeam or other project management software, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Adobe
  • Good driving record with ability to travel throughout the region
