PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsible for planning and executing on the annual Sales, Marketing and New Business Development Plan jointly with the President. Work directly with the President to set Annual Goals, prepare Business Plans, and achieve annual Originations and Yield goals. This position directly supervises a team of direct originations sales team members.


JOB DUTIES:


Sales Management

  • Grow our Lease and Commercial Loan Portfolio, as identified in each year’s budget.
  • Identify and develop national manufacturers, distributors, or dealers (within targeted industries) for developing vendor referral programs. Work directly with the President on opportunities and new relationship development.
  • Work with and effectively manage Vendor and previously approved referral relationships. Maintain strong working relationships with each via Customer Relationship Management (CRM) visits, virtual meetings, and other means of regular contact.
  • Perform effective Credit Analysis activities as needed for potential transactions – accessing financial statements, bureaus, and other credit information to develop a summary of credit risk. Present to President, as required.
  • Conduct and document regular (weekly or bi-weekly) one-on-one meetings with each direct report. Publish action items (S&As) after each meeting and follow up through completion.
  • Assist direct reports with customer calls, virtual meetings, and visits, as required. Work as a liaison with the Credit Department to ensure clear communication on approval terms and conditions for pending transactions as needed for the sales team.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews for employees. Ensure timely submission and monitoring of annual business plan goals for yourself and your direct reports in adherence to the President’s timeline.
  • Ensure team members achieve minimum annual Corporate Training requirements.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Aggressively work our CRM Plan, as jointly developed with the President on an annual basis.
  • Using a company-approved Sales/CRM System, follow up on all lease prospects with our Sales team on a daily basis.
  • Closely monitor and report on competitor activities, marketplace dynamics, and other issues that could impact the company.
  • Assist in career development and ongoing job-specific skills training for each direct report to ensure current industry knowledge as well as general professional business skills in topics such as communications, appearance, and presentations.
  • Coordinate and ensure the follow-up on all Active and Dormant customers as defined in the Customer Relationship Management Policy.
  • Implement both business and social activity programs with the President and Corporate Account Executives (CAE's), Relationship Managers (RM's), and other related staff.
  • Manage CAE’s and RM‘s work within the CRM, including Active and Dormant follow-up and Lease-end Maturities. Weekly reports are provided to each team member and Management for follow-up.
  • Work with CAE’s and RM’s to develop and implement digital campaigns (e-blasts, promotions, etc.).
  • Ensure CAE’s and RM’s are scheduling Quarterly Review meetings with key customers (as identified in their Business Plans). Manage and follow-up per the CRM Policy & Procedure (P&P).

Training and Employee Development

  • Implement an effective New Hire Training Program in collaboration with other department leaders to ensure a comprehensive and complete understanding our Sales Process and expectations.
  • Provide highly visible and active guidance, coaching, and leadership to the sales team.
  • Communicate regularly with direct reports to ensure each individual has a clear understanding of company expectations, objectives, and values.
  • Identify growth opportunities and deficiencies in each direct report and work to develop action plans for development and growth. Include in Business Plans and work on throughout the year.

Administrative

  • Work with team members to ensure compliance to all company Policies & Procedures (P&Ps).
  • Identify areas of improvement for the sales team and implement approved changes. Encourage staff participation on Working or Corrective Action Teams to improve existing processes and systems.
  • Work with Director of Marketing to plan yearly marketing strategies and oversee implementation of the plan. Meet regularly to prepare materials for digital campaigns, trade shows, and customer visits.
  • Ensure prompt and regular attendance.
  • Travel, as business needs require, to meet with new and existing key customers and relationships.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Personally commit to quality in all aspects of work.
  • Provide “World Class Customer Service” for internal and external customers.
  • Participate in and promote the established Quality Improvement Process (QIP) for continuous improvement.
  • Participate on teams to research, measure, and correct problems and to strive for process improvement.
  • Communicate and exemplify the Company’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Values, and Philosophy.
  • Attend at least ten (10) credit hours of training annually to continue development of work-related skills.
Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is minimally required.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of Business Management experience is minimally preferred.

  • Must possess the ability to write professional business communications as well as effective public speaking skills in both one-on-one and small and large group presentation settings.
  • Must possess expert knowledge of the leasing industry in general, have working knowledge of contracts and legal documents relating to leasing, and be able to write professional-quality lease documents.
  • Must be able to solve multiple and varied business problems and successfully implement corrective actions.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of customer service excellence and be able to deal effectively with customers in all situations.
