SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for leadingproduct engineering functionof Akron Brass,includingdesigning new product,re-engineering of existing product, operations support, product liability,and documentationandproductstructure control.

REPORTS TO (Title):

Akron Brass Site Leader

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop the Engineering team; serve as the organization's product design expert

  • Oversee engineering for new and existing products to meet customer, schedule, and cost requirements

  • Support manufacturing and operations with timely engineering solutions

  • Improve engineering processes for efficiency, accuracy, and cost reduction

  • Ensure compliance with mechanical specifications, ISO 9001:2015, and the Akron Brass Quality Manual

  • Manage shifting priorities and ensure deadlines are met

  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams on new product introduction and manufacturing readiness

  • Plan and manage the Engineering budget and resource allocation

  • Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement

  • Communicate critical quality, compliance, supply, and safety risks to leadership

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)

  • 5+ years of engineering or product development experience

  • 3+ years of managerial experience

  • Strong skills in GD&T, 3D CAD, FEA, and project management

  • Experience with CFD and multidisciplinary engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement practices

  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work crossfunctionally and adapt to changing priorities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)

  • 5+ years of engineering or product development experience

  • 3+ years of managerial experience

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Office role with 25% of time spent in lab environment.

    • Limited travel. Some moderate lifting is required at times.
