Job description

The Director of Operations (DO) holds primary responsibility for the success of the branch.

This role carries full accountability for operational execution, financial performance, staffing strategy, and compliance. The DO ensures payroll, billing, eligibility, authorizations, intake workflows, and team performance operate with precision while actively strengthening the branch's capacity to grow and perform at a higher level.

Through decisive leadership and operational ownership, the Director of Operations builds the structure, discipline, and team capability that allows the branch to expand its reach and elevate its results. This is a role for leaders who take ownership of outcomes, overcome challenges, and can build a business that reflects Team Select Home Care's high standard of performance and resilience.

Reports To: Area Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt

Core Responsibilities:

Branch Leadership & Development

  • Provide overall operational leadership for the branch, setting the standard for accountability, performance, and professionalism.

  • Drive branch advancement by strengthening systems, developing team capability, and improving operational consistency.

  • Contribute to branch expansion by engaging in business development efforts, strengthening referral partnerships, and identifying opportunities to increase census and market presence.

  • Take ownership of branch stability during periods of launch, transition, staffing fluctuation, or operational challenge.

  • Partner with the ADO and/or VP to align branch strategy with financial objectives and market opportunities.

  • Build a culture of ownership, urgency, and follow through within the operational team.

Operational & Financial Performance

  • Oversee and ensure accuracy of payroll processing, front end billing, eligibility verification, and authorizations.

  • Own branch profit and loss performance, actively monitoring revenue, expenses, and margin while implementing corrective actions to achieve financial targets.

  • Monitor staffing levels, productivity, and cost containment in alignment with branch financial targets.

  • Establish and maintain operational systems that support both current performance and scalability.

  • Ensure operational reporting, documentation, and audits are completed within required timelines.

  • Execute corporate operational initiatives fully and consistently at the branch level.

Staffing Strategy & Workforce Execution

  • Lead, supervise, and develop operational office staff with clear expectations and measurable accountability.

  • Orient and train operational staff to ensure process competency and policy adherence.

  • Build team capability by strengthening consistency, professionalism, and execution standards.

  • Address performance gaps promptly through coaching, corrective action, and structured follow up.

  • Manage the recruitment and placement of open roles within the local branch. This includes both Clinical and Operational positions. Hiring decisions for clinical positions will be made by Director of Nursing (DON).

  • Maintain current awareness of the abilities and limitations of each field staff member in collaboration with clinical leadership to ensure safe and appropriate client/caregiver placement.

  • Oversee and enforce compliance within the on-call scheduling process to ensure responsiveness and reliability.

  • Ensure all recruitment, screening, hiring, and retention processes meet regulatory and company standards.

  • Responsible for ensuring HR documentation and requirements are collected and maintained accurately in collaboration with the People Services Specialist.

Compliance & Risk Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local, and Team Select standards related to staffing, intake, and operational processes.

  • Promote and enforce the Compliance Plan.

  • Maintain branch readiness for audits, surveys, and regulatory review.

  • Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives and corrective action planning.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee, patient, and company information. This includes adherence to HIPAA standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Healthcare experience required.

  • Demonstrated leadership in operations or performance driven environments.

  • Proven ability to achieve operational and financial targets.

  • Strong organizational discipline with attention to detail and consistent follow up.

  • Excellent interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills.

  • Ability to make quality decisions under pressure.

  • Proficiency in required computer systems and technology platforms.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000 / salary with bonus
