Director of Engineering – Hydraulic Systems — a hands-on leadership role owning hydraulic product development (PTOs, pumps, cylinders, valves, manifolds, motors) for truck, construction, ag, and industrial markets, reporting to the VP of Engineering.iA bit about us:

We're a growing manufacturer of hydraulic components and systems, including PTOs, pumps, cylinders, valves, manifolds, and motors, serving the truck, construction, agricultural, industrial, and mobile equipment markets. As we scale our engineering function, we're building out the structure, standards, and processes to support a growing team of engineers.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Director of Engineering for our fast-paced Manufacturing sector. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage our engineering team and to play a critical role in the ongoing growth and success of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GD&T, Fluid Power, PTO, FEA, and Root Cause Analysis. The role requires at least 5+ years of experience in a similar field.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure the successful execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategic engineering plans to support the company's goals.
  • Ensure the application of GD&T, Fluid Power, PTO, FEA, and Root Cause Analysis in all engineering processes.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of new products and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with business strategies.
  • Establish and maintain standards for project management, quality assurance, and safety.
  • Review and approve project designs, budgets, and timelines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovation and encouraging professional development within the team.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher will be considered an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering management, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience with GD&T, Fluid Power, PTO, FEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of managing complex engineering projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
