ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Codes Engineering is a key management role, responsible for leading and directing all functions of the Elevate Codes department. The Director holds full accountability for the success of the Codes departments results across the Elevate and GenFlex product lines. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Technology, this position partners with other key departments throughout Elevate and Amrize BE to drive timely, sales-driven, and cost-effective execution; ensuring alignment with the organization's overarching strategic vision.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH 

  • Lead and direct all Codes Engineering and Administration functions for the Elevate and GenFlex product lines.
  • Develop and drive clear strategy to ensure a strong leadership position in codes excellence relative to the market in order to maximize our competitive advantage.  
  • Report regular project and departmental status updates directly to the Senior Vice President of Technology.
  • Establish and nurture strong working relationships with key departments across Elevate including R&D, Product Management, Field Technical Services, Marketing and Sales, as well as within Amrize BE, external test laboratories, and prominent industry associations.
  • Develop, implement, and analyze performance metrics to ensure all project work aligns with Elevate Leadership's strategic guidance.
  • Strategically support and empower the Codes team across the entire project lifecycle, from Sales and Product Management demand evaluation though education of the tools available for the sales team.
  • Drive the Codes team to prioritize work with a sales-driven, 80/20 business focus.
  • Lead and champion departmental efforts to meet and exceed Elevate's timely project execution and cost efficiency goals.
  • Conduct regular, in-person meetings with Elevate cross-functional staff and all testing laboratories to ensure a positive and collaborative strategic partnership.
  • Represent Elevate and Amrize by participating in and leading high-profile industry Codes efforts, including major conferences and codes bodies.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, combined with a Master's degree or post-graduate work in Business Administration (MBA preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within the Building Products industry, emphasizing cross-functional leadership and strategic impact.
  • Demonstrated expertise and deep knowledge of industry Codes, essential for guiding departmental strategy.
  • Proven success in Codes project execution, including a robust track record of leading and successfully delivering complex, strategic initiatives.
  • Prior experience in remote team leadership and the effective development of diverse, multi-generational, high-performance teams.
  • Track record of driving and sustaining high-level performance through metrics-based accountability.
  • High proficiency in generating, analyzing, and presenting metrics using Microsoft and Google productivity suites.
  • Impeccable focus, time management, and highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time including dedicated weeks at Elevate headquarters and the Global Technology Center
