Bachelor's degree in a related field. Doctorate in Education, Education Psychology, Quantitative Psychology, Social Sciences or a closely related field preferred. Five years of experience in medical education, health professions education, or higher education or in a related field. Experience in accreditation, data management, and evaluating educational programs preferred. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Serves the SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine by planning, organizing, and directing the accreditation, continuous quality improvement, program evaluation, and training initiatives across the continuum. Collaborates with the Senior Associate Dean for Educational Affairs and works with a variety of stakeholders including administrators, staff, basic science faculty, clinical faculty, students, regulatory agencies, and members of the community.
Primary Responsibilities
Plans, implements, improves, and expands the accreditation and continuous quality improvement (CQI) program. Enhances accreditation readiness for COCA, SACSCOC, ACCME, and other accreditation bodies and communicates accreditation expectations. Collects, manages, analyzes, and reports data for accreditation. Leads data-informed continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives. Coordinates institutional efforts related to program evaluation and outcomes monitoring. Creates and oversees the development of reports and leads meetings with stakeholders. Conducts, evaluates, and reports on multiple facets of course, student, and faculty evaluations generating annual reports, along with program evaluations for clinical and preclinical programs. Communicates with faculty, staff, and students to evaluate needs and provide appropriate information to enhance teaching, learning and evaluation in the future, including but not limited to, individual consultations. Assists in the gathering, analysis, interpretation, evaluation, and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data relevant to curriculum, instruction, and program performance. Oversees the maintenance of data, program records, and databases. Trains course directors and other leaders on how to access and review data and plan for improvement. Analyzes CQI methods and provides feedback to stakeholders. Assists with the development and implementation of measures for continuous quality improvement efforts. Records, stores, manages, and disseminates confidential and sensitive data as appropriate. Strengthens the COM's data-to-decision pipeline. Promotes a culture of ongoing training and quality enhancement efforts across the educational continuum. Oversees the professional development and continuing medical education program. Participates in teaching and training activities as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
