Job description
ROLE TITLE: Director, Network Engagement & Partnerships
POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Managing Director, Network Engagement & Strategic Partnerships
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications are due on Monday, July 6, 2026, by 11:59 PM ET
LOCATION: Massachusetts (Boston)
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Teach For America Massachusetts (TFA MA) is seeking a Director, Network Engagement & Partnerships to serve as a strategic driver of alumni engagement and activation across our 2,700-person network. Reporting directly to the Senior Managing Director, Network Engagement & Strategic Partnerships, this role leads the design and execution of a cohesive vision for how we engage, connect, and mobilize alumni toward meaningful impact for students and communities across Massachusetts.
The Director, Network Engagement & Partnerships, will operate as a highly trusted partner to the Senior Managing Director (SMD), Network Engagement & Strategic Partnerships, owning the day-to-day strategy, systems, and execution required to bring our alumni engagement vision to life. The ideal candidate brings a deep belief in the power of networks, a strong orientation toward systems and data, and a track record of building relationships that translate into meaningful action. They are energized by connecting people to opportunities, designing experiences that foster belonging and purpose, and building the infrastructure that allows a network to thrive at scale.
This is not an event planning role. While the Director, Network Engagement will design and execute high-impact alumni experiences, the primary focus of the role is building a cohesive, data-informed strategy and operating system that drives sustained alumni engagement, career mobility, and regional impact. The role also serves as the primary point of contact and connector for our broad and diverse alumni network.

Alumni Engagement Strategy & Planning (35%)

Build differentiated engagement approaches across early-, mid-, and late-career alumni segments

Partner with internal teams, including TFA national alumni teams, to align alumni engagement with corps member experience, hiring, and programmatic goals
Support alumni leadership and career development by designing and implementing regional programming, while leveraging TFA national resources and local partnerships.
Community Building & Network Activation (30%)
Establish, grow, and lead alumni communities of practice and affinity groups that deepen connection and sustained engagement

Drive outreach and recruitment strategies to ensure strong and diverse participation
Ensure events are not just well-run, but strategically designed to build relationships, spark action, and strengthen the network over time
Lead pre- and post-event communication and follow-up to continue momentum between gatherings.
Set standards for high-quality event execution and create repeatable playbooks to reduce operational lift and streamline planning for regional events.

Build and maintain systems for tracking alumni engagement, participation, and outcomes
Ensure strong data hygiene and consistent use of platforms such as Dynamics and Salesforce
Develop systems for gathering alumni feedback and perspectives to continue to ensure programming is relevant and high-quality

Support, attend, and/or participate in regional and cross-team activities and campaigns, including staff meetings and events (Corps programming, Fundraising events)
Participate in org-wide initiatives, including corps member matriculation and corps member selection interviews
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of a typical week, the Director, Network Engagement & Partnerships may facilitate a strategy session on alumni engagement priorities, meet with a school or nonprofit leader to connect them with alumni talent, and review engagement data to identify which segments of the network need more targeted outreach.
The Director may also plan and execute an upcoming alumni convening, follow up with alumni after one-on-one conversations to connect them to career opportunities, and partner internally with the hiring team to align alumni engagement with corps member placement efforts.
This role operates across both strategic and tactical levels of work, owning the vision for network engagement while ensuring the systems, communication, and day-to-day execution are strong. The Director also plays a key role in ensuring our alumni network stays connected and informed through clear communication, consistent operating rhythms, and proactive coordination across teams.

Increased alumni engagement and participation across key segments
Stronger pipelines connecting alumni to career opportunities and leadership roles
Clear, reliable systems for tracking alumni engagement and outcomes
