About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Network Engineering Manager in the Telecommunications product. This leadership role is responsible for strategy, design, implementation, and operational support of the company's telecommunications and network infrastructure, ensuring highly available, secure, and resilient network services that align with enterprise business objectives. The Network Engineering Manager will lead network engineering functions and maintain a strong risk management and compliance-focused environment in line with Wells Fargo's policies and standards.


In this role, you will:
  • Manage and develop a team of network engineering individual contributors, handling work of low to moderate complexity and risk in the network engineering domain.
  • Oversee support of the company's network systems, including LANs, WANs, internet, transport networks, network segments, and other data communication systems.
  • Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Network Engineering function to ensure effective collaboration and alignment.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and develop risk controls to enhance network reliability and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair networked communication systems, addressing issues reported by end-users and administering system configurations.
  • Ensure timely issue resolution so that users have continuous access to organizational network resources with minimal disruption.
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding team objectives and network operations to meet business goals and performance targets.
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for the network engineering function, within scope of responsibility, maintaining adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Use network management software and testing tools to fine-tune systems, optimize performance, implement security measures, and streamline network functions.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers and leaders at multiple levels, ensuring cross-functional alignment on technology initiatives.
  • Manage allocation of personnel and budget resources for the Network Engineering team to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports, providing coaching, performance feedback, and assisting in hiring to build a strong team.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a network engineering or technology environment (managing engineers or technical teams).


Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading network engineering teams in a large enterprise or telecommunications environment, with a track record of delivering reliable network solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking technologies (e.g. LAN, WAN, transport systems, routing protocols, SD-WAN, wireless) and familiarity with industry-standard hardware and tools.
  • Experience with network security, risk management, and compliance practices, ensuring networks meet organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including effective collaboration with internal partners, vendors, and service providers.
  • Professional certifications or advanced education in networking or telecommunications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, cloud networking certifications) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement automation in network operations for efficiency and consistency.

  • Champion a risk-mitigating and compliance-driven culture by adhering to all applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, proactively identifying and escalating risks, and making sound decisions within the company's risk appetite.
  • Flexibility to work off-hours or on-call as needed to support critical network events, maintenance windows, or incident response in a 24/7 telecommunications environment.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$119,000.00 - $187,000.00
