Job description

RH is seeking a Director of Merchandising to lead our Rug category, driving the creation of consumer-relevant collections that align with our strategic vision, deliver on financial targets, and elevate brand equity. In this role, you will shape product strategy, champion revenue growth, and ensure an exceptional customer experience across every channel. The ideal candidate combines an impeccable eye for design with a deep appreciation for luxury, bringing an unwavering commitment to quality and a passion for crafting products that inspire and endure.
 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Set ambitious goals for cross-functional teams, manage calendars to meet critical milestones, and ensure accountability for results
  •  Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies to drive sales, margin growth, and overall financial performance across multiple departments
  • Lead brand strategy across all channels, partnering with Visual Merchandising, Creative Brand Marketing, and Web Merchandising to deliver impactful launches and experiences
  • Leverage consumer insights and market trends to inform product strategy and guide new product development
  • Define and manage product assortment strategies to achieve sales and margin objectives, presenting key initiatives to senior leadership for alignment
  • Oversee financial forecasting and lead regular performance reviews, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to optimize results
  • Ensure flawless product and pricing execution, partnering with vendors to secure timely receipts and maintain quality standards

OUR REQUIREMENTS 

  • 10+ years of merchandising experience, with a proven track record in product strategy, assortment planning, and financial management at a senior level
  • Expertise in luxury, home furnishings, textiles, or related lifestyle categories; experience in rugs or soft goods strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to identify trends and translate them into commercially successful, brand-aligned product offerings 
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret financial, sales, and consumer insight data to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience influencing and aligning executive stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities while meeting critical deadlines
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills, with experience overseeing product development from concept to delivery
  • Proficiency in merchandising systems, data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI), Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with additional expertise in Adobe InDesign for layout and design projects
