Position Overview

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) supports customers in the Aerospace, Defense, and Communications markets by providing technical expertise and application support for Analog Devices' advanced solutions. This role is ideal for engineers seeking to develop a customerfacing technical career while working with cuttingedge technologies deployed in missioncritical systems.

The position offers structured mentoring from senior technical leaders, handson exposure to industryleading products, and the opportunity to build expertise at the intersection of engineering, customer engagement, and business impact.

Key Responsibilities

As a Field Applications Engineer, you will serve as a technical liaison between customers, sales teams, and internal product groups. Your primary responsibility will be to support customer designin and deployment of Analog Devices' Wireless RF, MEMS, Microwave, HighSpeed Communications, and analog/mixedsignal solutions, with a strong emphasis on Aerospace and Defense applications.

This role is based in Southern California and involves close collaboration with customers throughout the greater Los Angeles region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Sales Engineers to present, position, and support Analog Devices' technologies and systemlevel solutions
  • Working closely with a Senior Field Applications Engineer, receiving ongoing technical mentoring and professional development
  • Translating customer system requirements into practical, highperformance engineering solutions
  • Recommending systemlevel architectures tailored to specific customer applications
  • Providing structured feedback to internal Product Line teams regarding customer needs, application challenges, and potential new product opportunities
  • Building effective working relationships with Product Line Management, Marketing, and Applications Engineering teams
  • Establishing and maintaining trusted technical relationships with key customer accounts
  • Delivering customer training on products, reference designs, and development tools
  • Conducting technical presentations, seminars, and live demonstrations of products and tools

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent
  • 3-5+ years of experience in product engineering, design engineering, applications engineering, or a related technical role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid foundational knowledge of RF, microwave, and mixedsignal circuit design at the board or system level
  • Handson laboratory experience with measurement, debugging, and validation techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
  • Collaborative, teamoriented approach with the ability to work across engineering, sales, and management organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MEMS, FPGA, or software development
  • Interest in customer interaction, technical presentations, and solutionoriented problem solving

Travel and Work Environment

  • Regional travel within the assigned territory, approximately 20-25%
  • Combination of customer site visits, laboratory work, internal collaboration, and technical presentations
