The Group You'll Be A Part Of
The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.
The Impact You'll Make
At Lam, as a Field Process Engineer, you are a customer-focused expert on our equipment, pushing the boundaries to meet customer needs. You are responsible for completing process support, evaluation, and documentation of process outputs for hardware modifications and upgrades. You play a vital role in supporting customers in installations, training, and identifying design improvements with product groups.
What You'll Do
  • Provide process support and installation of Lam equipment at customer sites.
  • Complete Design of Experiments (DOE) evaluations to characterize process window for new installations or modifications.
  • Develop new processes for small variants to existing customer applications.
  • Conduct experiments, collect, analyze data, generate reports, and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and customers to understand their needs, technology roadmaps, process flow, requirements, and business challenges.
  • Represent Lam to our valued customers and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Present technical and marketing materials with a win-win mindset to keep customers informed about products and services to address their needs.

Who We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a closely related field with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing personal protective safety equipment, or cleanroom suit, and be on-call if needed.

Communication Skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with customers.
Analytical & Logical Thinking
• Proven logical thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and propose actionable solutions.
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab, Excel).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent tools for documentation and presentations.
Work Style & Environment
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work in cleanroom environments and be on-call when required.
This is a graduate eligible role.
Preferred Qualifications
Process Engineering Knowledge
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Familiarity with semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments
Problem Solving
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Experience in troubleshooting process issues and implementing continuous improvements.
Language Skills
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin (spoken and written) is a plus.
