Job description


As a Sr Advanced Semiconductor Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will contribute to the design and development of ASICs and FPGAs that support our aerospace technology initiatives. You will be involved in the architecture, design, implementation, verification, and integration of a wide variety of ASICs and FPGAs used in many products, including Flight Controls Systems, Weather Radars, Displays, and many more. You will work closely with world class hardware and software engineers during planning, requirements and architecture, design, test and integration phases.

  • Author Design Requirements

  • Create Simulation Testbenches
  • Perform successful Synthesis and Place & Route

  • Provide Customer Support
  • Prepare Documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Familiarity with ASIC/FPGA design languages, such as VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
  • 5+ years of FPGA Design and/or Verification Experience
  • Oral and written communication skills

WE VALUE
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Professional knowledge of DO-254 Airborne Electronic Hardware development lifecycle.
  • Professional knowledge of VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
  • Professional knowledge of ASIC/FPGA Radiation Hardening techniques
  • Strong technical and project and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience technically managing people.
  • Some experience with Analog, Systems, Controls, Filters, Servo Loops, Op Amp designs
  • Strong experience in Xilinx FPGA/SOC development, ASICs
  • Some software coding skills, preferably using C
  • Strong DSP design experience involving filters, servo loops, multirate systems.
  • MATLAB/Simulink design and simulation skills
  • Some LabVIEW experience.
  • Scripting language skills - e.g., Perl, Shell, TCL
  • Knowledge of simulators, STA tools, synthesis, and routing tools, AMBA, I2C, SPI
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Windows OS and LINUX OS and Microsoft office suite tools proficiency
  • Effective and clear communication skills and good ability to work with others.
  • Work accurately with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and follow up on responsibilities.
  • Self-starter who requires minimal oversight
