Job description

Club Director

Since 2000, Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui (BGCM) has been opening doors of opportunity and preparing young people for a Great Future.
If you enjoy working with kids and teens, come join our team and build a career around making a difference in the lives of Maui’s youth and in the community!
NOW HIRING: Club Director – Haiku Clubhouse
Salary: Starting at $60,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time, generally Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
Schedules may vary based on Club needs, events, and school breaks.
Seeking a clubhouse leader with heart, humor, backbone, and a deep belief in Maui’s youth.
At Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui, we are not just keeping the lights on after school. We are building safe spaces, strong relationships, future leaders, and a place where kids know they matter.
We’re looking for a Club Director for our Haiku Clubhouse — someone who can lead a team, run an operation, build community trust, manage chaos with grace, and still remember that a good laugh can save the day.
This role is part team leader, part youth advocate, part operations brain, part community connector, part calm-in-the-storm, and part “yes, I know where the permission slips are.”
You Might Be Our Person If You:
Can lead with kindness, clarity, and a little bit of backbone
Know how to hold people accountable without crushing their spirit
Can manage schedules, staff, youth, families, facilities, and surprises without melting down
Believe a safe and joyful Clubhouse is built through structure, relationships, and consistency
Can talk to a nervous parent, coach a staff member, calm a youth, and answer an operations question — sometimes in the same hour
Care deeply about Maui’s youth and being part of something bigger than yourself

What You’ll Do:
Oversee the full day-to-day operations of the Haiku Clubhouse
Lead, coach, support, and develop a team of youth development professionals
Create a safe, clean, structured, welcoming, and fun environment for youth and staff
Oversee programs in Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship
Manage staffing, scheduling, performance, communication, and team culture
Support youth behavior guidance and make sure policies and procedures are followed
Keep clubhouse operations, systems, facility needs, and daily routines running smoothly
Track participation, support reports, and help meet program goals
Build strong relationships with youth, families, schools, partners, and the Haiku community
Support events, fundraising efforts, and sharing the real stories of Club impact
Jump in where needed — because “that’s not my job” is not really a Club Director phrase

What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in youth programming, nonprofit programs, education, recreation, or a similar setting
Strong leadership, staff development, and team management experience
Ability to manage people, programs, operations, and priorities at the same time
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfort with budgets, reporting, systems, and accountability
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Must pass required background checks and pre-employment drug screening

Perks & Benefits:
Starting at $60,000 annually
Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
Sick leave, up to 80 hours per year
Vacation leave, up to 80 hours per year
16 paid holidays each year, plus your birthday off
Paid vacation that grows with you — employees earn an additional week of vacation at 4, 7, 10, and 13 years of service
401(k) with matching
Employee Assistance Program
Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
A job that actually makes a difference
Applicants must live on Maui or be able to relocate before starting.
At Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui, we are building something that matters — for youth, families, staff, and the future of our community.
Ready to lead with aloha, accountability, and purpose?
Send your resume. We’d love to meet you.
