Job description

Position Summary: 
The Registered Nurse - Outpatient (RN) will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients in a medical office setting as directed by a physician. The RN is responsible for providing exemplary customer service and consistently practicing CMC’s core values of excellence, compassion, healing, teamwork, stewardship, innovation, and integrity.  
 
Qualifications: 
 
Education
  • Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred. 
Experience 
  • Minimum of two years’ current experience in nursing practice required. 
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record System preferred. 
  • Knowledge of nursing theory and practice required. 
Licensure/Certification/Registration 
  • Current RN licensure in the state of South Carolina is required or in accordance with the compact state regulations.   
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.  
  • Ensure that quality care is provided to all patients and is responsible for maintaining confidential records of vital statistics and other pertinent data.  
  • Notify patients of diagnostic test results, ensure that clients receive appropriate follow-up care, and educate patients to assure understanding of physician’s orders effectively.   
  • Perform duties including but not limited to rooming patients in a timely manner, recording nursing notes, vital signs, weight, etc., and coordinating care within the office team. 
  • Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families 
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads. 
  • Effectively utilize strong organizational skills. 
  • Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills.   
  • Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required. 
  • Remain calm and professional in all situations.
