Job Description:

Registered Nurse - Maternity

Who We Are:

Elliot Hospital's Women's and Children's Services are dedicated to addressing the specific health and wellness needs of women and their children. Our Maternity unit is a 24-26 bed unit averaging 14 mother/baby patients with 55 employees. Patients are high and low risk postpartum mom & babies 35 weeks gestation and above, substance-exposed infants, management of hyperbilirubinemia and hypoglycemia in the newborn, as well as post gynecological surgery.

About the Job:

The Registered Nurse on Maternity cares for high and low risk postpartum mom and babies for 2-3 nights following birth (2 nights for vaginal and 3 nights for cesarean).

What You'll Do:

  • Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
  • Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, and communicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
  • Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and critical thinking skills.

Who You Are:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN - BSN preferred)
  • Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required
  • Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment - ACLS preferred
