Job description

Actively promote the Parts City Auto Parts Affiliate program to solicits, recruit and develop new business. Represent Parts City/Ozark Automotive to new and existing customers with the
goal of protecting the company's interest and increasing sales volume within each region.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
New business: Primary responsibility of the New Market Development Specialist is to work with Management team to expand the distribution of the Parts City affiliate program through new markets and competitive store changeovers.
Market Development: persons in this position are employed by Ozark Automotive/O'Reilly Auto Parts for the purpose of increasing the company's net sales of automotive parts and accessories. The New Market Development Specialist is expected to represent the company's interest in all aspects of ethical business practices, customer service, sales growth and expense control.
Identify and target areas of strategic growth based on key factors of our corporate distribution network. Individual will work closely with the departmental leadership of the Real Estate, DC Operations, Divisional Sales Management Teams and Supplier Credit to evaluate and prioritize growth opportunities in best interest of O'Reilly/ Parts City Auto Parts.
Establish a line of communication with the owners & management or potential prospects conducive to earning their business. This process includes correspondence, strong follow up skills, developing action plans to address the operational strengths/weaknesses of each store such as, advertising/marketing needs, customer service, finance and other factors which contribute to the overall net sales and profitability of each customer.
The position of New Market Development Specialist requires travel in excess of 3 - 4 weeks per month. The person in this position must possess strong organizational skills, excellent follow up and strong communication skills. This position will be required to work closely with Corporate Travel to coordinate approved travel schedules and motel accommodations.
Present Corporate and Jobber Field Sales Managers with weekly travel schedule and prospect activity reports. Arrange follow up calls for Field Sales Management Team for prospects in their individual sales territories.
Assist Market Development Manager, Director of Independent Sales, Director of Jobber Store Operations, and VP of Acquisition with the evaluation of business leads including new store prospects, changeovers, or acquisition opportunities.
Manage commitments made to owners/ managers of potential prospects and the Sales Management Team to ensure obligations are fulfilled on a consistent and timely basis. Communicate immediately to the distribution center management when any customer problems or concerns arise.
Provide assistance with the planning and actively participate in new store installations/changeovers, remodel projects, and store inventories at associate and corporate locations.
Safeguard the assets of Ozark Automotive Distributors and control expenses for the betterment of the company. Complete all required call reports, itineraries, and expense reports on a timely basis.
Take personal responsibility for increasing your program knowledge and sales skills through formal training classes and other educational resources. Examples of these areas include, but are not limited to: continually improve your selling techniques and customer service skills, time management to achieve assignment deadlines and handle multiple tasks, upgrade your aptitude to review financial statements, and upgrade written and oral communication skills.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
2 years counter experience and/or inside sales experience in automotive aftermarket parts industry.
Desired:
Outside sales experience or store management experience in the automotive parts industry.
