TheTualatin Pilot Engineeringteam is part of Global Operations,partnering with the design teams in Deposition Product Group and the operations teams in the Global Factory Network to execute high quality new product transitions. This organization drives high qualityproductivity, and innovative performance across Lam’s Tualatin manufacturing operations within a culture centered on safety and continuous improvement.

The impact you’ll make

As the Director of Manufacturing Engineering for the TualatinPilot Manufacturingteam, you will lead the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) organization responsible fordeveloping the Assembly and Test methods for transition to the Global Factory Network. You will be a champion of manufacturability in the Product Development & Release process, influencing product design decisions from concept through high-volume manufacturing transition.

In this role, you willlead the execution of Pilot engineering deliverables under the Product Development & Release process, continuously assessing methods to accelerate product transitions in support of our Shift Left objectives. You willscale the use of digital manufacturing technologies within your teams, delivering advanced assembly and test instructions early in the product lifecycle. Your leadership will bridge the evolving safety,cost,and cycle time needs of the Global Factory Network with the product design process.This role reports to the Senior Director of TualatinPilotManufacturing.

What you’ll do

Lead thetransformation of theTualatin Manufacturing Engineeringteam’s methods and missionin support ofShift Leftobjectives, including the implementation of emerging Digital Manufacturing and AI tools.

Lead a team of Engineering Managers and Engineers who:

  • Developmanufacturing and test instructions based on design engineering inputs
  • Provide assembly and test engineering supportto the Pilot Manufacturing team
  • Assess new products for manufacturabilityby creating scorecards and activelyparticipatingin design reviews
  • Diagnose and drive corrective action of issuesidentifiedin virtual and physical build by collaborating with design and quality engineering

Buildrelationships withpeer executives in theproduct group and factorynetwork.

Who we’re looking for
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with10+ years of experience in relevant operational or manufacturing engineering roles within a global,cross functionalenvironment.An advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to build teams, especiallyduringperiods of growth or transformation.
  • Background in manufacturing operations in electronics, aerospace, healthcare, or similarhigh complexityindustries.
  • Demonstrated ability toidentifyopportunities, build a compelling vision, and lead multidisciplinary stakeholders through change.
  • Skilled at setting clear expectations, managing accountabilities, and resolving conflicts quickly.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, witha strongleadership presence and the ability toinfluencethroughdata.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with global partners.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, vacuum integrity, and basic electricalcomponentbehavior.
  • Demonstrated leadership in fostering an inclusive, diverse, and collaborative culture.
Preferred qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, includinghands-onexperience managing and improving key operational metrics such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) andFirst‑PassYield (FPY).
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred, withdemonstratedcompetence in structured,data drivenproblem solving.
