The Machine Tool-Advanced Manufacturing Instructor will teach and demonstrate precision machining basics in the classroom and in the laboratory (shop) settings.ย  The instructor will need to have experience with manual machines including milling (Bridgeport), turning (machine lathes), and surface grinders.ย  In addition, the instructor will need experience and the ability to teach CNC machining on machining centers and turning centers.ย  Controls include Fanuc and Haas, along with trainer machines.ย  MasterCam and Autodesk Inventor are used for CAD/CAM design, and also for 3-D print modeling. Students will also need to be prepared in blueprint reading, quality assurance, and materials. Students can be prepared for apprenticeships, the workplace, or college experiences.ย 
In addition, the teacher will be expected to be involved in a career & technical student organization, fund and friend raising, continuous school improvement activities, program advisory committee meetings, and proactive professional development workshops and seminars.ย ย 
Technical and instructional mentorship will be available to applicants to learn the shop, equipment, and curriculum.ย 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSย

  • Know and be guided by the curriculum documents of the New Hampshire Bureau of Career Development and the Claremont School District.
  • Be responsible for an instructional program and the utilization of teaching methods which consider the individual needs, interests, abilities and maturity levels of the student.
  • Plan for and utilize all required class time in a productive and professional manner.
  • Act as advisor for the Machining program for SkillsUSA and assist students to develop those attitudes and skills in citizenship, leadership, and human relations which will contribute to their personal and occupational success.
  • Attend regularly scheduled district faculty and department meetings, in-service trainings and State of NH Bureau of Career Development workshops.
  • Participate as a contributing member of the SRVRTC and Stevens High School professional learning community.
  • Keep the CTE Director informed of the overall aspects of the Advanced Manufacturingย  program.
  • Maintain Tooling U, OSHA 10, and NHCTC Running Start Technician certifications.
  • Perform such other tasks and job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Career & Technical Education.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSUREย 
ย 




  • Valid appropriate New Hampshire Career & Technical (CTE) Certificate preferred.
  • Two year college degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience to seek New Hampshire Alternative Four Teaching Certification
  • Five years' work experience in the trade of machining and the ability to show basic experience with the machines in the lab (shop)

Other Knowledge and Skills

  • Applicants must be able to specify, select, inventory, install, operate, and maintain all tools and equipment specified in areas being taught.
  • CNC basic programming, set-up, and editing experience preferred.
  • General Engineering Experience will be considered
