Position Summary:
United Animal Health seeks a dynamic Key Account Manager - Swine to drive sales and business growth in the swine industry. The ideal candidate, with proven experience in animal health and nutrition sales, will leverage production, nutrition, health, and market knowledge to meet customer needs. They will support United Animal Health products through meaningful customer interactions and cultivate networks that create sustained value for both customers and the company. This role also involves meeting/exceeding sales quotas and implementing strategic business plans for mutual success.
Core Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate Market and Product Knowledge
  • Demonstrate knowledge of customer challenges, UAH products, and solutions.
  • Apply understanding of production practices, formulation/nutrition, and relevant data to address customer needs.
  • Articulate product features and benefits clearly.
  • Provide services and solutions that enhance customers' business objectives.

  1. Sell the UAH Portfolio
  • Tailor sales approaches based on customer needs and goals.
  • Engage customers with active listening, data-driven discussions, and strategic questioning.
  • Offer meaningful solutions and gain customer commitment through value-driven sales strategies.

  • Research market opportunities and contribute to product development initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
  • The majority of work will be performed remotely, with up to 50% overnight travel. Candidates residing in Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, or Nebraska are preferred.
  • Frequent travel to customer sites and facilities via air and driving.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Training:
  • BS Degree in Agriculture or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Relevant Experience:
  • 10+ years in direct sales (preferred).
  • 5+ years in an agriculture production environment (preferred).
  • 3+ years in business management or sales planning.

Specialized Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of swine economics and sales principles.
  • General understanding of swine nutrition and health.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Non-Technical Skills:
  • Embody UAH culture and lead by example.
  • Mentor sales team with strong leadership.
