What You Will Contribute:

Badger Meter is seeking a strategic and highly visible Director, Investor Relations to lead the company's engagement with the investment community and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.

This role is responsible for shaping and delivering a compelling narrative about the company's strategy, performance, and long-term value creation. As a key partner to the CEO, CFO, and executive team, you will lead investor relations strategy, oversee ESG communications, and help position Badger Meter with analysts, investors, and other stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on how the company is understood, valued, and positioned in the market.

Key Responsibilities

Investor Relations Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations strategy aligned with long-term business goals
  • Serve as the primary interface with analysts, institutional investors, and the broader investment community
  • Shape and communicate the company's financial and strategic story

External Communications & Market Positioning

  • Lead development of earnings materials, investor presentations, and executive messaging
  • Prepare executives for earnings calls, investor meetings, and conferences (including scripts and Q&A)
  • Drive clear, consistent messaging across press releases, disclosures, and external platforms

Executive & Board Partnership

  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and communication of business priorities
  • Prepare materials for the Board of Directors and support quarterly updates on strategic progress
  • Partner with the General Counsel on proxy statements, shareholder communications, and annual meeting activities

Investor Engagement & Events

  • Lead planning and execution of investor conferences, roadshows, and other engagement opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the investment community

ESG Strategy & Reporting

  • Own enterprise ESG strategy, messaging, and external reporting
  • Partner cross-functionally to track key ESG metrics and progress against sustainability goals
  • Ensure alignment with evolving investor expectations and regulatory landscape

Market Intelligence & Strategic Insight

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor positioning, and investor sentiment
  • Provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership on potential risks and opportunities

Corporate Governance & Financial Processes

  • Support shareholder-related activities, including dividends, stock programs, and investor records
  • Ensure compliance with disclosure requirements and governance best practices

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in investor relations, corporate finance, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience interacting with institutional investors and sell-side analysts
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial results into a clear, compelling narrative
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Public company investor relations experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or technology-driven environment
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks and reporting standards
