  • Lead new product introduction (NPI) programs, including system qualification and system matching, to meet or exceed customer performance requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted technical leader for customers, engaging directly with their advanced development teams.
  • Understand current customer technology needs while anticipating future requirements and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across Product Development, Product Marketing, Service Engineering, and Operations to deliver a strong customer experience.
  • Lead and coordinate multi-site, global customer projects that build trust in ASM's capabilities and secure new business.
  • Drive alignment through structured reviews and cross-functional collaboration.

What we're looking for
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including leading a team
  • Deep semiconductor expertise with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, market dynamics, and customer environments.
  • Proven technical leader with experience building, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams while driving meaningful change.
  • Strategic thinker and executor who can translate complex technical insights into clear roadmaps, decisions, and business impact.
  • Trusted communicator and influencer with executive-level presentation skills and the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Collaborative, self-directed leader who thrives in fast-paced, matrixed organizations and builds strong partnerships with customers and internal teams.

Why join ASM as a Technical Director
  • Access to industry-leading technology in a company with strong growth momentum.
  • The opportunity to win across multiple applications and markets.
  • High-impact, rewarding customer interactions solving real technical challenges.
  • A role where you are more than a number, with visibility, ownership, and a clear growth path.
  • A collaborative culture that values expertise, leadership, and results.
