Job description

At Switch, we don’t just design, build and operate data centers—we are enabling the technology of the future. Led by Founder & CEO, Rob Roy, we believe in revolutionary innovation, operational excellence and the principle of karma. Switch is where talented people come together to EVOLVE the digital world.

We believe that innovation isn’t just about technology—it’s about the people, culture, and purpose that make it happen. Every Switch team member contributes to a mission greater than themselves: to create the world’s most advanced digital infrastructure that powers the progress of humanity.

The Role: Director, Enterprise Accounts

As Director, Enterprise Accounts, you will own and grow a portfolio of Switch’s most strategic enterprise client relationships. You will develop long-term account strategies, identify complex growth opportunities, and build trusted relationships with executive decision-makers.

You will work across Sales, Solutions Engineering, Capacity Planning, Power, Finance, Construction, Operations, and other teams to align Switch solutions with client priorities. You will also lead complex commercial opportunities, resolve strategic client issues, and support sustainable revenue growth across assigned accounts.

This is a senior individual contributor role with no supervisory responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

Own a portfolio of strategic enterprise accounts with responsibility for retention, expansion, and new business growth.

Develop long-term account strategies aligned with each client’s business goals, infrastructure plans, and technology roadmap.

Build trusted relationships with executive, business, and technical stakeholders across client organizations.

Identify, qualify, and lead complex enterprise opportunities from initial discovery through contract execution.

Lead executive business reviews and maintain current account plans, opportunity strategies, and relationship maps.

Understand client strategies related to cloud, AI, hybrid infrastructure, colocation, migration, consolidation, and data center modernization.

Navigate complex client organizations to strengthen relationships and expand Switch’s presence.

Communicate relevant Switch capabilities, initiatives, and strategic updates to assigned clients.

Partner across Sales, Solutions Engineering, Capacity Planning, Power, Finance, Construction, Operations, and other teams to develop and deliver client solutions.

Serve as an escalation point for strategic client issues and coordinate internal resources to drive resolution.

Maintain accurate account, opportunity, activity, relationship, and strategic planning information in Salesforce.

Lead executive presentations, complex commercial negotiations, and strategic data center tours.

Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to identify relevant client opportunities.

Share market intelligence, account insights, and deal strategies that strengthen enterprise sales execution.

Support peers with strategic account planning and complex deal strategy without direct supervisory responsibility.

What We’re Looking For

You build trusted client relationships through clear communication, consistency, and follow-through.

You take ownership of opportunities and move work forward without waiting for direction.

You exercise sound business judgment and balance client needs with Switch’s long-term priorities.

You bring the right teams together to solve complex client and commercial challenges.

You influence decisions through expertise, credibility, and collaboration rather than formal authority.

You navigate complex organizations and competing priorities with sound judgment.

You communicate clearly with executive, commercial, and technical stakeholders.

You use market knowledge and client insight to identify practical growth opportunities.

You are accountable for delivering a consistent, high-quality client experience.

What You’ll Bring

Required

10+ years of enterprise technology sales, strategic account management, or related experience.

Demonstrated success managing complex enterprise accounts and delivering revenue growth through retention, expansion, and new business development.

Experience leading complex negotiations and long enterprise sales cycles.

Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, including data centers, colocation, cloud, hybrid environments, AI infrastructure, or related technologies.

Experience building trusted relationships with executive decision-makers, including CIOs, CTOs, and senior business and technology leaders.

Strong business acumen and the ability to connect technology solutions to client business goals.

Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Experience using Salesforce or another enterprise CRM platform.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

Ability to travel up to 30% based on business needs.

Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to support client meetings, events, or data center tours.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience selling mission-critical infrastructure, colocation, cloud, managed services, or enterprise technology solutions.
