Hill City Kids Elementary Director

Reports To: Executive Director of Families and Equipping


Job Overview: The HCKids Elementary Director will support Hill City Church's objectives through the embodiment of the mission statement: Together we love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. This role is focused on supporting and serving the overall goals of the Family Ministries Team with an emphasis on elementary students at Hill City Church.


Sunday Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate HCKids Elementary on Sunday mornings
    • Cast vision and provide hands-on leadership to volunteer leaders and teaching teams
    • Ensure a welcoming, safe, and excellent experience for children and families, including first-time guests
    • Lead the execution of the Elementary large group experience, including teaching, worship, and programming flow
    • Partner with staff and volunteers to ensure effective setup, execution, and teardown of Elementary spaces
  • Support broader Hill City Church Sunday needs as required


Lead:

  • Implement the HCKids vision within Elementary Ministry environments, ensuring alignment with overall Family Ministries direction
    • Lead Elementary teaching, worship, and large group environments (1st-5th grade) in partnership with ministry leadership
    • Lead the day-to-day execution of curriculum, systems, schedules, and ministry logistics within Elementary spaces
    • Provide strategic input and recommendations regarding curriculum, structure, and programming improvements
  • Build, lead, and develop Elementary Leadership Teams
    • Equip and coach volunteers using developmentally appropriate strategies that align with Hill City's vision
    • Lead volunteer onboarding, training, and leadership development pipelines within Elementary
    • Establish and maintain clear, consistent communication rhythms with volunteers
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are consistently implemented and upheld


Partner:

  • Collaborate closely with the HCKids Ministry Director and Family Ministries Team on vision, strategy, and execution
    • Participate in curriculum evaluation and contribute recommendations regarding shifts or changes
    • Contribute to budgeting, calendar planning, and long-term ministry strategy for Elementary
  • Partner with Family Ministries leadership to support and integrate Special Needs Ministry within Elementary environments


Grow:

  • Lead and develop the 4th-5th grade ministry experience (Next Up!) with a focus on spiritual formation and leadership readiness
  • Champion continuous improvement of the Elementary experience
  • Create and implement strategies to engage, equip, and partner with parents of elementary-aged children
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and scalability within Elementary Ministry and bring recommendations to leadership


Staff Requirements:

  • Attend monthly staff Huddle
  • Participate in trainings, organizational development, and processes required of all staff
  • Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain good standing as covenant member of Hill City

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and managing teams
  • Prior experience in leading church ministry, preferably kids ministry
  • Proven track record of ministry leadership within the local church
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to cast vision and execute with excellence
  • Physically able to participate in activities alongside children and families
