IT Implementation Engineer

Location: Remote (U.S.)
Travel: Up to 50% travel Nationwide, including occasional weekends
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary: Approximately $115,000 + Bonus

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Implementation Engineer to lead infrastructure assessments, cloud migrations, and enterprise technology implementations across multiple locations nationwide.

This is a highly visible, customer-facing role responsible for evaluating existing IT environments, developing migration strategies, and leading the transition of sites into a standardized enterprise IT support model. The ideal candidate will have a strong infrastructure background, deep Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 expertise, and experience managing complex implementation projects from planning through execution.

This is a Remote First position with up to 50% travel, including occasional weekends.

Key Required Skills
  • 7+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure or systems engineering experience
  • 5+ years of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration and architecture
  • Experience leading IT infrastructure implementations, migrations, and technology transitions
  • Strong Azure cloud architecture experience (Virtual Networks, Virtual Machines, VPN Gateway)
  • Windows Server administration and Active Directory experience
  • VMware ESXi and/or Microsoft Hyper-V administration
  • Enterprise networking experience including VPNs, VLANs, routing, and switching
  • Project management and cross-functional stakeholder coordination
  • Experience documenting IT environments, infrastructure, and technical processes
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing consulting skills
  • Healthcare IT experience is a plus
Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end IT implementation and infrastructure migration projects.
  • Conduct onsite assessments to evaluate existing IT infrastructure, systems, and business workflows.
  • Develop implementation, migration, and transition plans for enterprise IT environments.
  • Design, implement, and secure Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud solutions.
  • Architect Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Virtual Machines, VPN Gateway connectivity, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, local IT providers, vendors, and internal technical teams to ensure successful technology transitions.
  • Evaluate existing hardware, servers, networking equipment, and infrastructure against enterprise standards and recommend improvements.
  • Assess IT security posture and provide recommendations to improve security, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Review current IT support models and technology contracts to support implementation planning.
  • Document server infrastructure, network topology, applications, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor Azure resources to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, cloud, and migration-related issues throughout project delivery.
  • Create detailed technical documentation and operational handoff materials for ongoing support teams.
