Description:


A premier Brainerd Lakes Area senior living facility is searching for a Human Resources Director to lead the HR functions of the business. The Human Resources Director provides daily direction and oversight to operational aspects of Human Resources. Responsible for ensuring people strategies, programs and department operations are efficiently aligned to respond to organizational needs and priorities. Serves as a human resource leader who provides exceptional support to all employees and the leadership team, all while upholding the organization's mission, vision, values, and goals.  This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be both the strategist and the executor. With the help of a Payroll/Benefits Coordinator, you will own everything from talent acquisition and onboarding to payroll and benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations.


Salary range: $100,000 - $110,000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the HR department.
  • Conduct and support any coaching/correction of employees, complaints/grievances/arbitration cases, and/or HIPAA investigations. 
  • Assist with workforce planning oversight & ensure successful implementation of any recruitment and/or retention programming.
  • Lead benefit broker meetings & assist with benefit planning, document upkeep, and renewals. 
  • HR policy development, implementation, and management of annual review and updates. 
  • Work with legal counsel to manage labor relations, negotiations, and/or collective bargaining agreement renewals and/or updates. 
  • Onboarding/recruitment/retention oversight. 
  • HRIS/payroll/benefit administration oversight.
  • Performance management of direct report and support of duty across the organization. 
  • Responsible for strong customer service delivery by the HR department. 
  • Advise HR Advisory team of any on-going or recurring HR issues. 
  • Supervise a Payroll/Benefits Coordinator.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR management, business administration, or related field.
  • Six or more years of HR business partner, strong generalist and/or HR leadership experience. HR experience in healthcare and/or long-term care industry. 
  • Extensive experience with labor relations, negotiations, and/or collective bargaining agreements preferred. 
  • Exceptional communication skills and team-oriented approach.
  • Experience in payroll/benefit administration, onboarding/compliance, recruitment/retention, and HRIS system maintenance and optimization. 
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Ability to effectively develop relationships with various stakeholders. 
  • Ability to effectively supervise employees.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately. 
  • Strong collaborative skills to serve all organizational partners. 
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and on–the-spot decision-making. 
  • Good understanding of the legal environment surrounding health care and employment law, benefit and payroll regulation and policy/procedure/documentation requirements within HR.
