POSITION SUMMARY
Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department in compliancy reporting, daily functions of Human Resources Department, and directing employees on how to find benefit information including how to navigate benefits website.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
โ€ข Administer FMLA, Leave of Absence (LOA), and employee accommodation processes in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
โ€ข Experience conducting monthly driver reviews, communicating performance feedback, and supporting driver retention initiatives.
โ€ข Apply strong understanding of employee benefit programs, enrollment processes, and benefit communications to support employees effectively.
โ€ข Coordinate benefit counselor appointments and assist employees with benefit-related questions, enrollment processes, qualifying life event changes, open enrollment activities, and available resources.
โ€ข Assist with wellness program administration, employee engagement activities, wellness campaign communications, and employee benefit education initiatives.
โ€ข Knowledge of I-9 employment eligibility verification requirements and compliance tracking.
โ€ข Ability to facilitate new hire and driver orientation programs.
โ€ข Experience processing state separation notices and maintaining personnel records.
โ€ข Knowledge of independent contractor (IC) and company driver status changes, including completion and processing of required paperwork.
โ€ข Ability to assist with EEO-1 data collection, reporting preparation, and record maintenance.
โ€ข Ability to assist the HR Director with record requests, employment verifications, subpoenas, and other HR administrative functions.
โ€ข Post job openings internally and externally through designated recruiting platforms, conduct introductory candidate interviews, and coordinate the candidate selection process by forwarding qualified resumes and interview feedback to hiring managers for review and consideration.
โ€ข Ability to provide backup switchboard coverage and support departmental administrative needs.
โ€ข Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
โ€ข Performs other duties as assigned or directed by HR Director or leadership.

Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Associate's degree in business management or similar.

Experience
  • 1-2 years' experience in Human Resources Generalist role or equivalent of related education and work experience.
  • Transportation knowledge is preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Experience with interviewing.
  • EEOC guidelines.
  • EEO-1 reporting.

Computer Skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • AS/400 experience not required but preferred.

Other Requirements
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm.
  • Able to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
  • Solid presentation skills.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive personal information (i.e. social security numbers, telephone numbers, addresses, banking info).

Salary Description
