We are currently seeking a Director of HR to oversee our Fluid/Culture/Ice Cream Plants. This is a remote role to include travel, specifically to our FCIC plants (Portland, ME; Concord NH; Agawam, MA Suffield, CT; New York: Arkport, LaFargeville and Vernon. Position requires 75% travel.

The Director, HR develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares personnel forecast to project employment
  • Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
  • Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry
  • Represents management in negotiating collective bargaining
  • Writes and delivers presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices.
  • Provide consultation to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, organizational development, employee relations, and labor relations.
  • Effectively, develop, implement, and manage human resource-related initiatives that support HP Hood's strategic operational goals.
  • Develop, coach and mentor assigned HR
  • Partner with local and divisional management to assist with employee transactions: – hiring, promotions, demotions, work related issues, corrective actions/memos of expectations and terminations.
  • Monitor administration of key metrics data and health of human Identify negative trends and quickly resolve with solutions aligned with strategic operational goals.
  • Responsibility for communicating, implementing and monitoring affirmative action
  • Plans, organizes, and manage all HR related activities of the assigned Participates in developing divisional goals, objectives, and HR related systems.
  • Implements and annually updates job descriptions as necessary; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Coordinates, internal/external training/educational activities for assigned
  • Assists division with the development of training/educational curriculum and Facilitate trainings as needed

Education and Experience:
  • BS/BA or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive human resources generalist experience required
