The Monad Foundation is a team of dedicated ecosystem and community builders who are on a mission to massively grow the impact of decentralized tech. We believe that the Monad blockchain--the performant and parallel EVM Layer 1--will help decentralized apps eat the world.

The Role

The Monad Foundation is looking for a Strategic Finance Associate to play a critical role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of the Monad Foundation. You’ll report to our Director of Finance and work cross-functionally to help manage day-to-day financial operations, support strategic projects, and build the systems we need as we scale. If you are someone who has the following attributes, then this role is for you:

  • Comfort with financial statements and basic accounting principles

  • Propensity for taking the initiative and getting things done proactively

This role will be based in the New York office (hybrid).

What You Will Do
  • Analyze financial results and track performance vs. budget to provide insights and recommendations to management
  • Independently maintain operating model, continually incorporating strategic plans for the organization
  • Perform ad hoc analyses of different financial trends, deep diving into specific areas of interest
  • Manage cash flow and optimize working capital by managing expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Help track and manage treasury, including fiat and crypto holdings
  • Partner with external accounting advisors and vendors to ensure accurate and compliant accounting and reporting
Who You Are

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of finance experience gained through working in client services (e.g., investment banking, management consulting, etc.), corporate finance, or both
  • Previous experience building an operational budget, analyzing performance, and reporting on budget variance
  • Highly proficient in Google Sheets and/or Excel
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial operations, including monthly close processes
  • Genuinely curious about crypto / web3 with an openness to learning new tools and frameworks
Nice to Haves
  • Comfort with financial tech stack (e.g., QuickBooks, Ramp, Cryptio, Deel, etc.)
  • Prior professional experience in crypto / web3
