This position will primarily provide services at Messier Funeral Home and Brunelle Funeral Home, with occasional support at other Milestone Funeral Partners locations as business needs require.

Why Join Milestone?

When you join Milestone, you're becoming part of a team that is deeply connected to the communities we serve. Every day, your work helps families navigate some of life's most difficult moments with compassion, dignity, and exceptional care. We value your expertise, invest in your growth, and help you build a career with purpose.

About the Role

As a Funeral Director, you'll play a vital role in guiding families through one of life's most difficult moments with compassion, professionalism, and exceptional attention to detail. You'll meet with families to arrange meaningful funeral services, coordinate every aspect of the service experience, oversee the care and preparation of the deceased, and ensure each family's wishes are honored with dignity and respect.

This role is ideal for a licensed professional who combines strong organizational skills with genuine empathy and a commitment to serving others. You'll collaborate closely with fellow funeral professionals, local clergy, cemeteries, crematories, and community partners while contributing to the daily success of the funeral home and delivering the highest standard of care to every family we serve.

Current & active state Funeral Director licensure is required. Evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities may be required.

What You'll Do

Funeral Service Arrangement & Coordination

  • Guide families through the funeral arrangement process with empathy, clarity, and professionalism while understanding their needs, preferences, and cultural or religious traditions
  • Plan and coordinate all logistical aspects of funeral, memorial, and graveside services
  • Collaborate with cemeteries, crematories, clergy, celebrants, and other service providers
  • Ensure transportation, preparation, and service timelines are executed seamlessly

Care of the Deceased

  • Oversee the respectful preparation, presentation, and handling of the deceased
  • Ensure all standards of dignity, professionalism, and regulatory compliance are maintained throughout the care process

Compliance & Documentation

  • Prepare and file required legal documents, including death certificates, permits, and related records
  • Maintain accurate arrangement files and administrative documentation
  • Ensure compliance with state funeral service regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Active Funeral Director license as required by state regulations
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrated experience in funeral service or a related field
  • Strong understanding of funeral service laws, regulations, and ethical standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple arrangements while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • A compassionate, team-oriented approach and a genuine commitment to serving families with dignity and respect

Benefits & Perks
