Primary Job Goal: Direct the Technology Operations Department for the district, offering strategic leadership and oversight to guarantee that operational efforts support the district strategic goals and educational objectives while maintaining service reliability, business continuity, and maximizing instructional time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Technology Operations team including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Lead the collaborative development and oversight of the Technology Operations General Fund, SPLOST, and federally-funded budgets to fulfill all local, state, and federal mandates.
  • Ensure professional development and succession planning within the Technology Operations team.
  • Direct and manage the daily operations of support services in accordance with District policy and applicable laws to ensure timely, equitable, and effective service delivery to schools and district facilities.
  • Ensure that critical support services are aligned, responsive, and structured to meet the operational and instructional needs of the District.
  • Establish and maintain service standards, Service Level Agreements, escalation protocols, documentation practices, and performance reporting to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Manage systems for tracking assets and equipment inventory in accordance with District policy and in compliance with local, state, and federal mandates.
  • Establish and maintain department operating procedures, workflows, documentation, and reporting.
  • Analyze and monitor service metrics and key performance indicators to detect trends, address gaps, and pursue improvement opportunities, enacting corrective measures as required.
  • Ensure coordinated support for device lifecycle management, support services, software deployments, and related operational functions in alignment with district and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively and consistently regarding service initiatives, operational changes, and incident status to cabinet leadership, principals, and other stakeholders.
  • Implement departmental strategies and change management protocols, providing thorough communication, impact assessments, and stakeholder collaboration for all initiatives impacting schools and departments, and divisions.
  • Oversee service agreements/contracts and vendor partnerships, actively participating in bidding, contract reviews, and selection processes to maximize value and ensure consistency with District requirements.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with principals, department heads, and executive leadership to understand operational needs and remove barriers to success.
  • Review internal processes and practices for efficiency and effectiveness; implements improvements to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Monitor financial management of Technology Operations to ensure purchase orders, budgets, and procurement processes are managed in compliance with District policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with academic and operational leaders to identify emerging needs and ensure departmental services evolve to support instructional and organizational priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen service delivery, operational effectiveness, and alignment across schools and facilities.
  • Advise cabinet leadership on service capacity, resource allocation, risk areas, and opportunities for improvement within the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years direct experience in Technology Operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills; prior experience managing a technical team preferred.
  • Familiarity with public school operations preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot client systems issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all educators, students, and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work. Must be able to be present at the physical worksite.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communication skills are essential factors in performing essential tasks.
