Location: Greater Tampa Bay | Hybrid | Local Candidates Only
Our client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed company operating in the industrial services sector, with a physical operations footprint spanning multiple locations across the US and internationally. The business has expanded significantly in recent periods, reflecting a period of sustained growth and increasing operational complexity. As the company continues to scale, leadership is focused on building a more sophisticated, audit-ready finance function to support the business long term. This is a newly created leadership role, established to support the organization's continued growth and increasingly complex, multi-national operations. The culture is casual, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced, valuing diverse perspectives, initiative, and comfort with ambiguity. Successful completion of background, drug, and reference checks required!
Responsibilities:
  • Own and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
  • Design and implement standardized close calendars, procedures, and best practices across a multi-location structure
  • Lead financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, managing requests and supporting a smooth annual audit
  • Identify, research, and help resolve technical accounting issues, partnering with outside technical accounting advisors as needed
  • Oversee consolidation of financial results across US and international entities, including foreign currency translation
  • Partner with international accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate integration of overseas financial results
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to a team of accounting professionals
  • Support the integration of newly acquired businesses into the company's accounting systems and processes
  • Evaluate and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies to support a scaling organization
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other business leaders to support strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to due diligence readiness and financial reporting deliverables in support of long-term organizational goals

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA highly preferred
  • 5+ years' experience leading financial close processes within a multi-location, multi-national organization
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement close calendars, SOPs, and process improvements
  • Experience with, or strong willingness to learn, foreign currency translation and international consolidations
  • Prior exposure to cost accounting highly preferred
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, ambiguous environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the presence to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter mentality with an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach
  • General awareness of, and openness to, leveraging AI and emerging technology in finance operations
  • Willingness to travel periodically, including occasional international travel

Why You'll Love Working Here:
  • Join a high-growth company with strong momentum
  • Take ownership of a newly created role with significant visibility and influence
  • Work within a diverse, collaborative, and entrepreneurial culture
  • Be part of a leadership team that values new ideas and initiative
