Job description

The Director of Finance will be a hand-on and participant manager and will lead and develop an internal accounting team to support financial reporting, business planning and budgeting, forecasting and formal financial reviews. The Director of Finance will be responsible for managing financial and accounting policies and providing leadership and coaching to the Finance Team.
  • Oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department including documenting and maintaining complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions according to Corporate Accounting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • Conduct P&L reviews and manage the preparation of all financial reports.
  • Manage the preparation of financial reviews and forecasts and prepare Executive Financial Summaries.
  • Develop the accounting staff and provide training to ensure accurate and timely information is provided.
  • Ensure all company divisions attain budgeted revenue and expense goals including contingency planning.
  • Maintain banking relationships for daily cash flow management, ATM's, payroll ACH merchant credit card processing, etc.
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
  • Practice Servant Leadership, professional management skills, consultative and participative decision making skills.
  • Superior management skills with passion to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Work with VP of Finance to plan and conduct annual budgeting and planning process; review all budgets, monitor progress and keep VP informed of progress.
  • Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, depreciated/amortized and disposed of as appropriate.
  • Provide timely analysis and financial support to VP of Finance.
  • Advise on appropriate technology that meets the organization's information requirements and financial resources.
  • Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time.

Required Experience
  • Business or Accounting degree required; Master's in Business Administration preferred.
  • CPA preferred and will be given priority consideration.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive accounting experience, including experience in a multi-office environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in mid-management role, supervising managers and supervisors; evaluating five or more direct reports required.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organization change and development within a growing organization.
  • Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise.
  • Innovative team player who can multitask and work independently.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance, IT and administration initiatives.
  • Computer proficient using MS/Windows Office products.
