Job description

Job Title: Senior Electrical EngineerJob Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer leads the design and development of advanced analog and digital circuits and complex electrical systems that meet stringent safety and performance standards. This role works closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate electrical components across platforms, develop and implement control algorithms, and ensure systems operate reliably in demanding environments, including space-related applications. The engineer also mentors junior team members, drives continuous improvement in engineering practices, and contributes to innovative technologies in areas such as directed energy and space domain awareness.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of analog and digital circuits and complete electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and performance requirements.
  • Architect electrical systems and power electronics solutions that meet project specifications and integrate effectively with mechanical, software, and systems engineering components.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate electrical components across platforms, ensuring optimal functionality and seamless system-level performance.
  • Develop and implement control algorithms and control systems tailored to specific operational needs and mission profiles.
  • Oversee analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to enhance performance, reliability, and robustness under real-world operating conditions.
  • Design and validate analog front-end circuits and mixed-signal interfaces for integrating sensors, control loops, and microcontroller subsystems.
  • Select and characterize filter topologies, including low-pass, band-pass, and notch filters, to meet system-level requirements for noise rejection and bandwidth.
  • Lead PCB design from schematic capture through board layout, with emphasis on low-noise analog and mixed-signal designs, and provide project examples that demonstrate this expertise.
  • Plan and execute test strategies to validate designs, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to optimize system performance.
  • Coordinate with external partners and suppliers to source high-quality electrical components that align with technical and programmatic objectives.
  • Draft comprehensive technical documentation, including schematics, design specifications, test plans, and reports, ensuring clear communication and traceability to project requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and broader project teams, promoting best practices in electrical engineering and design.
  • Stay current with industry advancements, safety standards, and emerging technologies in electrical engineering, power electronics, control systems, and related domains.
  • Contribute to projects involving directed energy and space domain awareness technologies, applying advanced electrical engineering principles to cutting-edge applications.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and design methodologies to enhance quality, efficiency, and innovation.
Essential Skills
  • At least 5+ years of electrical engineering experience, with a strong focus on design, development, and validation of complex electrical systems.
  • Deep expertise in electrical system architecture and design, power electronics, analog and digital circuits, and control systems, with at least 3 years of recent experience in these areas.
