Job description

Job Title: Staff Physician

Location: Atlanta, Georgia - PPSE Service area (GA, AL & MS)

Reports To: Medical Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: 215,000 - 230,000

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Staff Physician will provide direct medical care to patients in accordance with the Medical Standards and Guidelines, policies and procedures of PPSE. The Staff Physician will provide health care information and services in an effective, efficient, and nonjudgmental manner. The Staff Physician will participate in Planned Parenthood Southeast's (PPSE) Compliance, Risk, and Quality Management program as a leader and clinical subject matter expert.

17. If using a personal vehicle to drive for work purposes, a valid GA driver's license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of the GA vehicle code are required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

1. Graduate Degree from an accredited OB/GYN or Family Medicine program required.

2. A valid and current Georgia MD license is required.

3. Must comply with licensure requirements for practice capacity and have or obtain a current license in all practicing states.

4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

5. Minimum of 3 years' experience providing Family Planning and Abortion services preferred.

6. Experience with digital healthcare delivery and management platforms.

7. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: including, but not limited to:

1. Provides miscarriage management and abortion services to the gestational limit of the affiliate.

2. Participates in the delivery of Planned Parenthood clinical services, as necessary including abortion services and advanced gynecological services (including but not limited to colposcopy, complicated IUC removal and insertion, complicated implant removal, and vulvar lesion evaluation/biopsy).

3. Assists the Medical Director and the Associate Medical Director in physician consultation call rotation.

4. Maintain active DEA license. Responsible for controlled substance ordering for the Gwinnett Health Center.

5. Collaborate with Director of Compliance, Risk, and Quality Management (CRQM) and Medical Director to maintain and implement the Medical Standards and Guidelines.

6. Attend and participate in monthly Provider meetings.

7. Serve as a member of PPSE's Medical Management team to ensure delivery of high-quality care and excellent patient experience.

8. Work with the Medical Management Team and Operations Leadership Team to improve processes, launch new services, and ensure all clinical policies are followed.

11. Document accurately and clearly; demonstrate proficiency in PPSE's Electronic Health Record system

12. Collaborate with Health Center Managers and staff to meet clinic goals, productivity benchmarks, and assigned tasks.

13. Stay up to date on reproductive health care developments and maintain CEU requirements for required licensure and certification.

14. Serves as a resource for clinical staff and provides back-up to the Medical Director as needed.

15. Maintain patient confidentiality and meet compliance requirements, including HIPAA.

16. Meet coding and documentation requirements.

1. Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
