Our Marine organization is a trusted provider of innovative solutions for the worldwide boating and boat building industry, and we recently expanded our scope to lead the boating industry into an electrified future. We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Sales Manager. This position reports to Head of Marine OEM EMEA.

About the position

As a Sales Manager for the Marine team, you will drive the growth of our OEM Marine business in the DACH & BNLX region. The ideal candidate will possess both technical knowledge and a strong commercial aptitude, enabling them to build and nurture relationships with key OEM customers, shipyards, and naval architects. As a sales manager, you will be responsible for promoting our marine solutions, identifying new business opportunities, and providing technical expertise to both prospective and existing clients.

Your main responsibilities
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities with OEM manufacturers, shipyards, and marine project developers within the DACH & BNLX region.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert leads into sales, achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to penetrate new markets and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Attend industry trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to represent the company and generate business leads.
  • Provide technical advice and support to clients, helping them choose the best HVAC solutions based on their specific vessel requirements and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop customized HVAC systems for marine applications.
  • Present product features, benefits, and value propositions to decision-makers, including project managers, engineers, and shipyard leaders.
  • Lead the coordination of technical specifications, project timelines, and contract negotiations, ensuring smooth communication between the client, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Oversee the order process, ensuring timely delivery and installation of HVAC systems, while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs in the OEM marine sector.
  • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management, ensuring alignment with regional goals and targets.
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with OEM customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Undertake other tasks as may be required from time to time by the Directors of Dometic.

A suitable background would be a
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field, with experience in marine HVAC systems, refrigeration, or related technical systems.
  • Proven experience in sales engineering or business development within the OEM marine industry, ideally focusing on HVAC systems, marine equipment, or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of the DACH & BNLX Markets: Deep understanding of the marine sector within the DACH & BNLX regions, including local regulations, market dynamics, and key industry players.
  • Strong ability to engage with OEM manufacturers, shipyards, and marine project developers, offering tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, with fluency in both English and at least one local language (German, Dutch, or French).
  • Comfortable discussing technical specifications and capable of explaining complex HVAC systems to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Full driving license.

  • Familiarity with CAD systems, technical specifications, and BOM (Bill of Materials).
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the DACH & BNLX region to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and customer service teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met.
