We are a non-profit, FQHC-LAL providing medical, behavioral health, case management, community outreach, diabetes education, and pharmacy services. Leadership Opportunity

The Associate Medical Director maintains an active clinical practice while enjoying protected administrative time to mentor Advanced Practice Providers, influence clinical strategy, improve quality outcomes, and help shape the future of primary care delivery at Southwest Care Center.

Position Overview

This unique leadership opportunity combines patient care with physician leadership responsibilities.

Clinical Practice

  • Maintain an active primary care panel.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to diverse patient populations.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health, pharmacy, care management, and outreach teams.
  • Support integrated, patient-centered care models.

Clinical Leadership

  • Partner with the Chief Medical Officer to support primary care operations.
  • Supervise and mentor Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates.
  • Promote quality improvement, clinical excellence, and provider engagement.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of providers.
  • Advance population health, value-based care, and access initiatives.
  • Assist with HRSA, UDS, PCMH, and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Serve as a clinical leader across multiple clinic locations.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • At least five years of clinical practice experience.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising provider teams.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
  • Builds trust and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Passionate about caring for underserved and vulnerable populations.
  • Thrives in mission-driven, team-based healthcare environments.
  • Brings a solutions-oriented approach to improving quality, access, and patient outcomes.
  • FQHC, community health center, or safety-net experience strongly preferred.
