Overview
The Director, Data Science is tasked with designing, developing, and delivering advanced ML/AI-based products and analytic solutions integrated into the Publicis CoreAI workflows and end-product offerings. We are seeking a seasoned data science practitioner who has applied his technical expertise to innovative data engineering and ML/AI modeling problems and has delivered end products to internal teams and/or clients. The ideal candidate blends technical-domain expertise with hands-on modeling and data engineering experience in demonstrating structured & unstructured data, innovative modeling techniques, and technology platforms to develop and deploy effective applications that will be embedded in our CoreAI workflows.
Responsibilities
1. Data Science Solutions - Development & Innovation:
โ€ข As a Sr. Data Scientist, lend your expertise and provide direction to more junior data scientists to steer the development of essential ML/AI-based data products and analytic solutions for the Publicis CoreAI workflows and marketplace offering. You will function independently or talk to other data scientists and data engineers from partner Publicis teams in-house.
โ€ข Partnering with peers in related technical areas (such as technology and product engineering), bring your technical domain expertise to audit/assess our current data science capabilities and offerings to support media & marketing planning and operations functions.
โ€ข Operate in a constant 'growth hacking' mode that seeks to enhance our current suite of AI-based analytic data products. Produce Proof-of-Concepts to evaluate new tools.
โ€ข Stay ahead of the curve by continuously exploring, evaluating, and adopting innovative technologies to enhance development efficiency.
2. Subject Matter Technical Expertise:
โ€ข Work effectively with partner product stakeholders to communicate and translate product and output requirements into AI/ML solution architecture, tools, tasks & code that will improve the Publicis CoreAI offering.
โ€ข Skilled in various programming languages, frameworks, and tools to build ML/AI/GenAI applications that address specific issues. Able to adopt new languages and paradigms, applying them to the problem domain where they deliver significant benefit.
โ€ข Develop tools enabling teams to produce high-quality code that leads to rapid delivery. Ruthlessly pursue continuous integration and delivery.
โ€ข Ability to model in multiple data domains & platforms.
โ€ข Apply understanding of elastic scale and build highly available analytic systems.
โ€ข Participate or lead technical workshops and discussions with multiple internal stakeholders to define scope, objectives, outcomes, and design criteria for the most effective AI/ML solutions set, as planned.
โ€ข Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including product strategists, data & technology engineers, and business analysts-as you develop and deliver innovative AI/ML features and services that will lead to successful workflow implementations.
โ€ข Ensure projects adhere to quality standards, timelines, and budgets, managing client expectations effectively (as needed).
โ€ข Mentor and develop junior data scientists, starting with your direct teams that you work within
3. Domain Thought-Leadership & Industry Innovation:
โ€ข Stay abreast of trends, technologies, and standard processes in the data science field.
โ€ข Support internal knowledge-sharing and training programs to elevate the team's expertise.
โ€ข Contribute to the company's growth by editing case studies, contributing to white papers, and industry presentations that highlight success stories and innovative analytic approaches.
โ€ข Help set a higher standard for the organization in your technical area.
Qualifications
โ€ข Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science and advanced analytics.
โ€ข Has led the development of AI/ML solutions in a fast-moving, innovation-focused organization in categories such as e-commerce/retail (e.g., Chewy, Wayfair), entertainment/media/travel (e.g., Spotify, Expedia), advertising platforms/services (e.g., Google, Amazon).
โ€ข Demonstrable history of hands-on coding with a portfolio that showcases your prowess.
โ€ข Mastery of multiple programming languages and development tools. Experience of building products used by other developers.
โ€ข Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and leading cross-functional projects.
โ€ข A reputation for writing code and developing applications that have not only earned the respect of your peers but have also left them in awe.
โ€ข The caliber of work could be likened to that of a developer who has contributed to a renowned open-source framework.
โ€ข Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
