About the Role
In this leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, you will oversee a team of high-performing Risk and Data Science Analysts, both onshore and offshore, to develop and implement credit risk models and AI-driven underwriting and credit decision processes, optimize strategies related to risk management, pricing, and business growth, and shape and enhance lending products and processes to ensure they are grounded in robust risk management principles, driving both innovation and stability.
Responsibilities
Credit Decisioning Model Development
  • Develop and implement advanced credit risk models (rule-based, heuristic, and machine learning) to support underwriting and portfolio management.
  • Automation of Customer Journey, Underwriting, and Credit Risk Framework.
  • Collaborate with technology, data engineering, and product teams to continuously optimize workflows.

Risk Strategy Development
  • Design, execute, and monitor risk strategies across credit underwriting, credit limit assessments, pricing, and collections.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performing credit risk team.

Research and Publications
  • Contribute to in-house research by publishing articles and whitepapers on topics related to small business, AI, and macroeconomics.

Requirements
  • Hands-on expertise in developing and implementing machine learning-based statistical models.
  • 10+ years of experience in banking or Fintech, specializing in Modeling for underwriting, fraud detection, risk management, or collections for either consumer or small business. Hands on Experience in Statistical Models such as Logistics regression, XGBoost, Decision trees, or other ensembles.
  • Proven track record in risk management within the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of fintech products, lending solutions, Embedded finance and industry regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex scenarios and drive data-driven decisions.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing a high-performing risk management team.
  • Advanced analytical and data science skills to support decision-making and risk strategy optimization.
  • Exposure to LLM/Generative AI/Agentic AI is preferred

Salary Range
$160k-$190k
