Job description


The Director, Consumer Marketing for North America Truck is a critical leadership role within the Ford Blue General Management team. This position is directly responsible for driving all aspects of consumer marketing, brand positioning, and market performance for Ford Blue's highly successful truck franchise, which includes the legendary F-150, Ranger, and Maverick product lines.
In this role, you will drive the creation and execution of high-impact marketing strategies and go-to-market tactics. You will serve as the brand champion for our truck lineup-utilizing deep customer insights and market segmentation to connect with customers, support our valued field / dealer network, and deliver breakthrough results in a highly competitive marketplace.
Responsibilities
You Will...
Market Execution & Financial Performance
  • Deliver retail sales, market share, revenue, and EBIT objectives for the F-150, Ranger, and Maverick vehicle lines, maintaining ownership overall marketplace execution.
  • Drive nameplate revenue growth strategy, optimizing Average Transaction Price (ATP), series and packaging strategies, and option mix rates.
  • Partner with Finance to create robust pricing strategies and lead the development of the market equation for Ford Blue trucks.

Marketing, Launch, & Brand Communications
  • Develop and execute world-class Go-To-Market (GTM) launch plans in close collaboration with the Marketing Communications and Public Relations teams as well as agency partners.
  • Translate rich consumer and brand insights into high-impact Tier I, II, and III communications across TV, digital, social media, CRM, and strategic partnerships.
  • Systematically track and provide nameplate and competitive insights to key enterprise stakeholders to optimize messaging and media strategies.
  • Lead brand-based elements of all-new and mid-cycle action (MCA) product reveal planning, including market research plans, core messaging, launch tenets, and reveal event execution.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as the "hub" of GTM strategy and execution, connecting external partners (consumers, dealers, and creative agencies) with internal teams (Finance, Contest & Incentives, Sales & Operations Planning, and Product Line Performance) to deliver unified brand success.
  • Interface closely with counterparts in Product Marketing to ensure seamless integration of cycle plans, volume requirements, and offering strategies from major development milestones to the showroom floor.
  • Advocate as the "Voice of the Customer," evaluating the revenue and brand implications of potential material cost-reduction ideas.
  • Partner with Field Operations, Regional Sales Teams, and Retail Education & Training to provide brand support for our dealer network and field teams.
  • Support the Ford Pro / Fleet Marketing team including the Super Duty Consumer Marketing Team with various marketing, sales, and promotional plans.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing consumer marketing organization focused on cultivating deep customer expertise, analytical rigor, and cross-functional agility.
  • Influence and align highly matrixed, multi-disciplinary teams (Product Development, Sales, Communications, Purchasing, and Finance) without direct line authority to achieve collective goals.
  • Foster an empowered, data-driven culture that relies on analytical insights to execute the broader Ford Blue retail strategy.

This role will be based in Dearborn, MI.
Qualifications
You'll Have...
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive professional experience in the automotive industry, with a strong background in marketing, sales, communications, product line management, finance, or program management (or 10+ years of experience with a Master's degree/MBA).
  • 5+ years in leadership roles with direct accountability for enterprise-level strategic outcomes and leading/developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and influencing multi-disciplinary teams in a matrixed environment.

You May Also Have...
  • MBA or Master's degree in a technical or business field.
  • Extensive experience in consumer marketing, product marketing, brand management, and / or field sales.
  • Exceptional business and financial acumen, with a proven ability to leverage consumer data and analytics to build compelling, strategic business cases.
  • Highly developed strategic mindset, with a demonstrated ability to translate long-term brand concepts into practical, near-term marketplace tactics.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with a track record of simplifying complex concepts and delivering persuasive briefings to senior executives and external partners.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
