The Director is expected to bring both analytical rigor and business judgment, communicate complex findings clearly to senior audiences, and build strong working relationships across a matrixed organization.

This is a leadership role within a growing function, offering the opportunity to contribute to how Marriott builds and applies customer and market intelligence in one of its most strategically important segments.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in analytics, intelligence, strategy, or a closely related field, with demonstrated ability to build subject-matter expertise quickly in a complex domain.
  • Demonstrated quantitative rigor and ability to translate complex analysis into clear, decision-useful narratives for senior audiences.

Preferred

  •  Advanced degree preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in luxury hospitality, luxury retail, private banking, luxury goods, or luxury travel distribution (e.g., Amex Platinum / Centurion, Virtuoso, Fine Hotels & Resorts).
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders in environments where business context, judgment, and differing viewpoints shape decisions.
  • Experience within an enterprise-level intelligence, insights, or strategy function that integrates multiple analytical disciplines (e.g., customer segmentation, lifetime value, and commercial performance).

Non-negotiable attributes

  • Intellectual courage and comfort holding an informed position in the face of differing views.
  • Genuine curiosity about customers, competitors, and markets.
  • Strong collaborator who works well within a team and brings a clear point of view while remaining open to being convinced by better arguments.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Owns the enterprise Luxury Intelligence narrative and connects Luxury-specific insight to broader enterprise decisions.
  • Partners with Luxury leadership, partner disciplines including Commercial, and continent teams to shape and prioritize the intelligence agenda.
  • Calibrates expectations with stakeholders on scope, timelines, and confidence levels, and reframes requests to surface the highest-value questions and their second-order implications.
  • Delivers the analytical framework supporting the Luxury Commercial Strategy, spanning performance measurement, customer intelligence, distribution and channel economics, and hotel-level accountability.
  • Applies bottom-up, market-by-market rigor to competitive and market intelligence for the Luxury hospitality landscape.
  • Establishes luxury customer segmentation and lifetime value framing across HNW, UHNW, aspirational, corporate, and redemption cohorts, integrating this work into the enterprise customer intelligence discipline.
  • Develops distribution intelligence across wholesale, travel advisors, GSO, consortia, and bank programs, quantifying incrementality and net revenue impact.
  • Develops a rigorous point of view on how owners perceive Luxury brands and portfolio strategy, informing enterprise decisions where owner perspective is influential.
