The Director, Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management provides strategic leadership for the Zurn Elkay Direct Material sourcing activities encompassing direct responsibility for over $200M of spend across the assigned Zurn Elkay Business groups. This position provides functional expertise and leadership with the Business Unit Operations Purchasing and Inventory management organization to implement best practices, alignment to strategic objectives and overall cost management. The Director acts as the primary point of coordination and interface within the global supply chain team reporting to the global Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive supply chain leadership and support to Zurn Elkay operations with primary focus on material cost management, strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management. The Director works with the global supply chain teams, operations, plant and corporate leaders in the development of strategic plans and supporting objectives aligning with the business strategies, while proactively engaged in supporting events to assure attainment of agreed upon performance across Zurn. This position participates in the establishment and deployment of standard processes, policies & procedures, taking the necessary steps to assure compliance. This position will be responsible for improvements in working capital, material and total cost elements, all while maintaining or increasing quality and delivery. This position leads the effort to achieve and maintain alignment in the value chain between the suppliers, and the end customer in all form, fit, function, price and delivery requirements.

  • Establish Zurn Elkay level procurement strategies, collaborate to insure incorporation of shared commodities across the group level into Zurn Elkay level strategy.

  • Develop, attract, and promote talent and three deep succession planning.

  • Develop, coordinate and execute relevant and/or assigned strategic sourcing initiatives under agreed-on time-frames.

  • Strategically support business units within the larger function of Global Supply Chain.

  • Support China based LCR team via supplier development, performance management, established KPI's, quality & inspection of exports, order management and maintenance of communication protocols.

  • Management, tracking, and reporting of key commodities, currency and market trends from a historical and forecasting perspective.

  • Establish and monitor adherence to agreed-on policies and procedures.

  • Establish annual goals and objectives, including stretch targets, and manage performance to assure attainment.

  • Develop, implement and adhere to required reporting methods and applies statistical tools to evaluate and control attainment of department's objectives.

  • Drive spend and opportunity analyses, prioritizing strategic categories and sourcing opportunities within assigned functions and throughout the SC environment where applicable.

  • Establish and implement countermeasures, as required, to compensate for negative performance and market trends.

  • Champion category management and the strategic sourcing processes; ensure consistent application of processes; drive strategic thinking within the supply chain organization.

  • Build and maintain solid relationships with strategic supply chain partners.

  • Partner with the operational purchasing teams to ensure period-over-period process improvements and associate development.

  • Establish metrics based on Total Value versus Total Cost analysis.

  • Support the development and implementation of enabling technologies.

  • Drive innovation and a focus on continuous improvement within the supply chain organization

  • Responsible for timely reporting to agreed-on KPIs and presents strategic sourcing plans, activities and successes to the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Develop and incorporate Diversity and ESG initiatives into sourcing strategies across Zurn.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a business/industrial related field, preferably in Supply Chain/Operations management

  • 10+ years of direct supply chain, operations, distribution or related experience

  • Experience with direct material, indirect services, and sourcing from low-cost regions

  • 7+ years of team leadership / supervisory experience

  • Financially literate, especially in P&L and cash-flow modeling, scenario building and comparatives analysis

  • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to use a structured approach to understand, analyze, and solve complex problems / issues

  • Ability to develop working partnerships with senior executives across the business and to challenge and influence them to create change

  • Cross-functional / cross-departmental outlook

  • Strong written communication and excellent oral presentation skills, and the ability to present convincingly at senior levels

  • Able to travel worldwide up to 30% of the time

  • Able to flex schedule to support worldwide time zones

The compensation range identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.

The Salary Range: $155,000 - $210,000
