About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to drive growth and deepen relationships with middle market and corporate clients with annual revenues ranging from $100 million to $2 billion.

This role is responsible for expanding Wells Fargo's presence across the Roanoke and West Virginia markets by delivering strategic financial solutions to established companies, business owners, and key decision-makers.

The ideal candidate is a proven relationship builder and business developer with deep commercial banking expertise, an established professional network, and a successful track record of sourcing, winning, and growing complex client relationships.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute a market-focused growth strategy to acquire new commercial banking relationships throughout the Roanoke and West Virginia markets

  • Leverage existing professional networks, centers of influence, and referral sources to identify and pursue new opportunities. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients, consistently generating new business opportunities. Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of complex commercial banking clients with annual revenues of $100MM to $2B.

  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, industries, strategic priorities, and financial objectives

  • Deliver a high-touch client experience by anticipating needs, providing advice, and connecting clients with Wells Fargo's full suite of capabilities

  • Retain and expand relationships through proactive engagement and strategic relationship planning

  • Partner across Commercial Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Commercial Real Estate, and other product organizations to deliver customized solutions

  • Structure and coordinate credit facilities, treasury solutions, and other complex banking products designed to meet client needs

  • Navigate internal resources effectively to provide timely, strategic solutions for clients and prospects

  • Maintain strong sales, portfolio, and pipeline management disciplines.

  • Ensure client activities, opportunities, and relationship plans are documented and current within CRM systems

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risk while adhering to Wells Fargo credit, compliance, and regulatory requirements

  • Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and competitive dynamics to support client conversations and business growth

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education

  • Completion of a formal commercial credit training program with demonstrated experience analyzing and structuring credit solutions for middle market and large corporate clients

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong Commercial Banking and/or Corporate & Investment Banking business knowledge

  • Extensive experience managing relationships with commercial clients generating annual revenues between $100MM and $2B

  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial banking products and services, including commercial credit, treasury management, liquidity solutions, and other corporate banking offerings

  • Demonstrated success developing new client relationships and growing market share through proactive business development efforts

  • Strong track record of building, retaining, and expanding long-term commercial banking relationships

  • Established network of business owners, executives, professional advisors, and community influencers within the Roanoke and West Virginia markets

  • Proven ability to source, structure, and close complex commercial banking opportunities

  • Ability to influence senior executives and financial decision-makers through consultative, strategic discussions

  • Strong executive presence and relationship management skills

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risk while ensuring adherence to regulatory and policy requirements

  • Strong partnership skills with credit, risk, treasury management, and product teams to deliver seamless client solutions

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
