Job description

Pavilion Healthcare is hiring a Travel Director of Nursing (DON) to support our skilled nursing facilities in the Dayton and Columbus areas. This is not a building-based DON position — our Travel Director of Nursing (DON) moves between facilities, mentoring and training the facility DONs and nursing staff to keep clinical operations strong across the group. If you're an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) who has outgrown a single building and wants to shape nursing care across multiple facilities, this Travel Director of Nursing (DON) role was built for you.

Prior nursing home experience is required — this role is hands-on inside skilled nursing facilities every week, and you'll need to walk in the door already fluent in how an SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) runs.

What You'll Do

  • Travel regularly to our facilities in the Dayton and Columbus areas, providing on-site clinical leadership and support — including on short notice when a building needs you.

  • Train, mentor, and develop facility Directors of Nursing (DONs) in clinical systems, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day nursing operations.

  • Train and coach facility nursing staff — RNs (Registered Nurses), LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurses), and CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants) — on standards of care and best practices.

  • Oversee nursing operations across multiple facilities, identifying gaps and driving consistency from building to building.

Qualifications

  • Active RN (Registered Nurse) license in Ohio.

  • Prior experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) / long-term care (LTC) setting is required.

  • Experience overseeing multiple facilities (regional, corporate, or multi-site nursing leadership).

  • Willingness to travel between facilities in the Dayton and Columbus areas as needed.

What We Offer

  • A leadership seat with real influence over clinical quality across a growing family of skilled nursing facilities.

Ready to lead beyond one building? Apply now to join us as our Travel Director of Nursing (DON) — we're moving quickly on this role.
