Job description

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Manager, Business Intelligence that can work out of one of the following IAT offices:

  • Overland Park, Kansas
  • Kansas City, Missouri
  • Raleigh, North Carolina

This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

This role is responsible for leading strategic business intelligence and management information initiatives that support business execution, operational reviews, and informed decision-making across the organization. The position provides leadership and direction to direct reports, promotes staff development and engagement, and ensures work is delegated effectively to meet business and customer needs. It also identifies and evaluates innovative business solutions, industry concepts, and supporting technologies that improve productivity and deliver measurable business value. In partnership with engineering, architecture, IT, and Information Delivery teams, the role ensures accurate, timely, and reliable data availability from source systems through Fabric and semantic models to support daily, monthly and quarterly reporting requirements. Additional responsibilities include supporting organizational change, building effective teams, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads key strategic and business execution initiatives to meet schedules and goals aligned with business requirements and the design, build, and test stages of the project management life cycle.
  • Provides guidance to direct reports within the latitude of established company policies and delegates tasks effectively to meet customer needs.
  • Effectively identifies innovative business solutions that may impact business unit and functional area decision-making and productivity.
  • Introduces and evaluates new industry concepts and supporting technologies to deliver quantifiable business performance improvements tied to enhanced business intelligence delivery.
  • Provides guidance to direct reports by leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; positioning staff to succeed and meet their personal career goals while achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; and driving engagement by creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.
  • Works internally with engineering and architecture teams to ensure the data needed to deliver business requests for management information is available in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures monthly and quarterly management information is prepared accurately and on time for operating reviews.
  • Develops a strong understanding of source data and how it flows through Fabric into semantic models used by the Information Delivery team.
  • Works closely with the IT department to ensure data from source systems is available when needed for the team to use in management information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience with PowerBI and Fabric
  • Knowledge of data modeling, semantic models, and DAX
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:

  • Experience with both SQL and Python
  • Experience in Insurance or Financial Services
