Job description

CHEERLEADER Coach Job Description
Supervises students participating in cheerleading and those assigned to assist in the program.
The basic function and purpose of the position is to organize, supervise, a direct cheerleading activities for the school system.
Duties and responsibilities of the position:
 






  1. Provide for selection of all cheerleading squads.
  2. Develop a committee for the selection of cheerleaders.
  3. Select and purchase of uniforms and materials as needed with the authorization of the administration.
  4. Distribute uniforms at beginning of season and collect uniforms at end of season.
  5. Send uniforms in for cleaning during summer with permission of administration.
  6. Assist in the planning of all pep events.
  7. Attend all pep events.  
  8. Sit in or near student cheering section to help maintain behavior and supervision.
  9. Arrange for transportation to out-of-town events.
  10. Drive cheerleaders to away football games.
  11. Attend athletic events when cheerleaders are cheering.
  12. Periodically review and update cheerleader rules.
  13. Enforce the school and High School League rules and policies relating to cheerleading.
  14. Schedule practices and meetings.
  15. Responsible in attending all rules meetings required by MN High School League.
  16. Organize "Parent's Night" recognition activities.
  17. Prepare individual awards and arrange with Athletic Director for Lettering.
  18. Attend and present at scheduled Awards nights.
  19. Other duties relative to the position may be assigned by the administration.
