Job description

We are pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for a Director of Food and Beverage.


What will you be doing most days?

  • Develop, communicate, and implement a business strategy that is aligned with the property and brand, then lead in its execution
  • Provide inspirational leadership while supervising and managing team members during day-to-day operations
  • Assist team members on the floor, behind the bar, and in the kitchen during high demand times, demonstrating functional expertise, and ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to meet business demands
  • Respond quickly and proactively to guest's concerns and take ownership of guest feedback until they are addressed and resolved
  • Accountable for all planed events and catering
  • Create and execute an exciting bar entertainment program and effectively manage the events from start to finish.
  • Effective communication on key social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest
  • Build and develop lasting relationships with corporate clients and social and industry networks that maximize business development opportunities
  • Stay informed of market trends and introduce new products and services to drive guest engagement, increase revenue, and ensure a competitive position in the market
  • Develop the budget and monitor financial performance to ensure goals are met or exceeded. Ensure all opportunities are identified and addressed
  • Oversee the financial aspects of the property's restaurant operations including purchasing, prevention & loss, invoice processing, and payroll.
  • Recruit and select talented leaders and team members who will enhance the brand's culture and provide opportunities for growth and development to retain staff
  • Ability and knowledge of food trailer operations and efficiencies.


What are the requirements for this position?

  • You have prior experience in a high-volume beach bar and restaurant, and/ or bar brand with live entertainment
  • You have a post-secondary diploma or degree in a field of study related to this profession or 4 years of experience in a comparable position and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You have detailed knowledge of food and beverage operations with track record of strong leadership and strategic planning skills and proven achievements in optimizing guest and team member engagement
  • You possess strong interpersonal relations and leadership abilities
  • You have a strong understanding of food & beverage operations, as well as, financials and budgeting systems with a clear understanding of cost controls and driving topline revenue
  • You have a professional business appearance and demeanor aligned with [Name of Restaurant]'s brand and culture
  • You have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and the flexibility to meet the demands of a 7 day a week operation
  • You demonstrate a passion for people with a strong network of contacts within the local events and restaurant/bar industry

This can be a physically demanding position. You must be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods of time.


Travel Requirements

This may require around 10% of travel time.
