Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Kuiper satellites. The success of Kuiper depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. Key job responsibilities
The Battery Technician II is a skilled production technician responsible for performing intermediate-level battery build, assembly, and test operations across assigned PODs. This role requires demonstrated proficiency in battery manufacturing processes, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The Battery Technician II is expected to:
• Follow work instructions and safety procedures accurately and consistently.
• Perform assembly of battery build and subassembly. Also assist with ATP
• Identify, document, and escalate quality issues, defects, or MRB.
• Communicate effectively across shifts and with Engineering, Quality, and Supervisory teams
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory.
• Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated.
• Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
• You will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables.
• Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures.
A day in the life
Shift Start:
• Review priority updates from leadership via Slack.
• Participate in beginning of shift stand-ups
• Shift is front half nights from Wednesday to Saturday 3:00PM - 1:30AM
During the Shift:
• Execute work instructions at your assigned POD. (Battery Build, ATP, or Subassemblies)
• Perform quality checks and escalate defects or anomalies
• Coordinate with Leadership on any blockers, bottlenecks or safety concerns.
End of Shift:
• Complete documentation.
• Complete 5S checklist for POD
• Hand off daily progress to leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, electronics assembly, or related production environment
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in creating process improvement procedures
- Experience creating process documentation
- Experience providing training and mentorship
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques

The starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
